MAGA Civil War Erupts as Trump Goon Explodes on Top Prosecutor

President Donald Trump’s inner circle has descended into a very public family feud.

Top Trump aide Peter Navarro went nuclear on the president’s handpicked D.C. prosecutor, Jeanine Pirro, during a live appearance on Steve Bannon’s show Monday, barking, “Never mention her friggin’ name to me.”

Bannon, calling himself a “humble servant out in the hinterlands,” had suggested to Navarro that Trump should ditch talking about Pirro, who earned the president’s wrath for refusing to prosecute a former Olympian accused of vandalizing the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, and start touting the Trump administration’s economic record instead.

Navarro, 77, called it a “great idea,” but then took a sharp turn into a very personal airing of grievances against Pirro, 75.

“Do me a favor, Steve,” the White House chief trade adviser said. “When I’m on camera, and you don’t want to talk about something like Jeanine Pirro, never mention her friggin’ name to me because that woman still refuses to fire John Crabb, the prosecutor, who was involved in putting you and me behind bars, okay?”

Navarro spent four months in prison after being convicted on two counts of contempt of Congress in 2023 for refusing to comply with a subpoena from the House Select Committee that investigated the January 6 attack on the Capitol.

John Crabb, then a top prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s office for D.C., was involved in the case against Navarro, as well as Bannon himself, who also spent four months behind bars after being convicted of contempt of Congress for defying the House Jan. 6 committee’s subpoena.

After Trump returned to office last year, Crabb was demoted in retribution for his role in prosecuting cases against the president’s allies and Jan. 6 rioters—but neither Pirro nor her predecessor Ed Martin have fired him.

Bannon, who apparently does not share Navarro’s grudge against Pirro, repeatedly tried to rein the Trump aide in as he continued to unload. “Stop, stop, stop. We love, we love Jeanine,” the 72-year-old former Trump strategist said with an awkward laugh.

“I’m just tellin’ you, that guy—how is that guy still working here?” Navarro exclaimed. “Who pointed me in a courtroom and said I was above the law. You get my drift. Don’t get me stoked up.”

He refused to drop it as Bannon tried to steer the conversation elsewhere, addressing Pirro, a former Fox News host, directly through the camera: “He should be gone! Jeanine, are you listening?”

Bannon quickly washed his hands of Navarro’s tirade, saying, “I want Judge Jeanine to know that I had nothing to do with this outburst; this is Navarro.”

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for D.C. declined to comment. The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Navarro has already been waging a campaign against Pirro on X, writing last week, “And I’m still wondering why @JudgeJeanine still hasn’t fired the prosecutor John Crabb in her office who helped put me and Steve Bannon unjustly behind bars despite REPEATED urgings. VERY Disappointing. Talk ain’t walk.”

Trump has left the door open to firing Pirro after she blamed a botched construction job for damage to the Reflecting Pool’s newly replaced lining, instead of sticking to his preferred narrative that vandals caused his renovation disaster.
