He does, however, have a \u201cnotebook full of ideas,\u201d according to Status. <\/p>\n<p>The financial stakes are considerable. Two people familiar with CBS News\u2019s business say <i>60 Minutes<\/i> correspondents can earn as much as $5 million a year, while the executive producer role that Bilton now holds commands around $2.5 million. Each correspondent typically leads a team of four or more senior producers earning between $200,000 and $300,000 annually, with associate producers making up to $150,000. Every story the show produces costs around $75,000 in travel, research, and production expenses alone.<\/p>\n<p>Bilton\u2019s appointment has not gone over well inside the building. Veteran correspondent Scott Pelley, who has been with the show since 2004, reportedly confronted Bilton directly in a closed-door meeting on Monday morning, telling him that Weiss was \u201cmurdering <i>60 Minutes<\/i>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=839\">MAGA-Coded CBS Host Speaks Out in Tribute to Axed \u201860 Minutes\u2019 Colleague<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe does not love this place,\u201d Pelley reportedly said. \u201cShe was brought in to kill it and is doing exactly that.\u201d Pelley was reportedly backed by other producers in the room.<\/p>\n<p>The confrontation came days after Weiss fired three of the show\u2019s most senior women in rapid succession. Correspondents Sharyn Alfonsi and Cecilia Vega, along with executive producer Tanya Simon, were shown the door. It also follows the departure of Anderson Cooper, who left after two decades with the program following Weiss\u2019 takeover.<\/p>\n<p>The upheaval has drawn fire from unexpected corners.
