{"id":75,"date":"2026-05-27T09:42:36","date_gmt":"2026-05-27T09:42:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=75"},"modified":"2026-05-27T09:42:36","modified_gmt":"2026-05-27T09:42:36","slug":"ice-barbies-successor-pushes-wild-plot-to-stop-flights-to-blue-cities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=75","title":{"rendered":"ICE Barbie\u2019s Successor Pushes Wild Plot to Stop Flights to Blue Cities"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<p>Secretary of Homeland Security Markwayne Mullin says he is drawing up plans to stop international flights from landing in Democrat-run \u201csanctuary cities\u201d just two weeks before the U.S. co-hosts the FIFA World Cup.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=73\">Humiliating Reality of Trump\u2019s Giant Peace Grift Exposed<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mullin, 48, the former plumbing company owner who took over the department from Kristi Noem, 54, in March, says he is considering pulling Customs and Border Protection officers out of airports in cities that won\u2019t help Donald Trump\u2019s immigration crackdown. <\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Under such a plan, the federal government could remove staff who process passport control, preventing any airport concerned from accepting international arrivals.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The plan would be payback for cities that block ICE while still leaning on Washington to run their airports, the DHS chief told Fox News host Sean Hannity in an interview on Tuesday. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re currently drawing up plans,\u201d Mullin told Hannity, insisting \u201cwe shouldn\u2019t be processing international flights into their cities\u201d while \u201cradical left Democrats aren\u2019t allowing us to do our job and enforce federal laws.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The current flashpoint is Newark, New Jersey, where demonstrators have hemmed in the Delaney Hall detention center and, Mullin grumbled, local police won\u2019t shield his agents going in and out.<\/p>\n<p>It is not the first time Mullin has reached for this threat. <\/p>\n<p>He first floated it in April, in the middle of a battle with Dems over his department\u2019s funding, telling Fox News: \u201cIf they\u2019re a sanctuary city, and they\u2019re receiving international flights, and we\u2019re asking them to partner with us at the airport, but once they walk out of the airport they\u2019re not going to enforce immigration policy, maybe we need to have a really hard look at that because we need a focus on cities that want to work with us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He then repeated it privately to travel bosses last week, the Associated Press reported, a warning that the U.S. Travel Association is taking seriously. \u201cU.S. Travel believes such a move would have devastating consequences for the travel industry and communities that depend on international visitation,\u201d the group said in a statement last Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=71\">Bombshell Letter Sounds Alarm on \u2018Meddling\u2019 MAGA Billionaire<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The reach and implications of such a move would be vast. The Justice Department\u2019s October 2025 roster of sanctuary areas takes in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Newark, Seattle, San Francisco, and Denver\u2014home to many of the nation\u2019s busiest international gateways. Last year, more than 50 million overseas travelers passed through New York\u2019s three main airports.<\/p>\n<p>Social media users pointed out the clear issues with the proposal. \u201cThere\u2019s a World Cup around the corner &amp; a high-ranking Cabinet official muses about closing most major US airports,\u201d legal scholar Nora Demleitner posted on Bluesky, reposting a warning that the move would shut down essentially every major international airport in the U.S. that\u2019s not in Florida or Texas. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cEnjoy the lawsuits that will ensue if you ever tried!\u201d one X user wrote, while another sarcastically cheered shuttering the airports as \u201cexcellent for the economy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Even Mullin\u2019s own side is twitchy. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, 54, has said the idea makes no sense to him. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have people from around the world and around the country that need to be able to fly into all different kinds of places.
