On Wednesday, however, Trump was being vague about whether the bill had been officially axed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Speaking fondly about the bill, Trump began to rant about the people involved in the Jan. 6 riots having their \u201clives destroyed.\u201d The president then insisted, \u201cI\u2019m one of them,\u201d referring to the 2021 FBI raid on his Mar-a-Lago home which he then called \u201ca total fake.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At the start of Wednesday\u2019s <i>The Source with Kaitlan Collins<\/i>, the host played the problematic exchange\u2014and noted that she had not even said anything yet. She said, \u201cThe president seemed clearly irritated when he was asked earlier today why his administration says it is not moving forward with that $1.8 billion anti-weaponization fund, as they have called it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Collins added, \u201cAnd just to note, as you\u2019re about to listen to this, this first exchange actually occurred before I had yet to ask the president a question.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, Trump gestured to Collins, who had not asked the question, and began to berate the media in general before finding his usual targets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCNN\u2019s crooked as hell, CNN\u2019s a very corrupt organization, with a corrupt reporter standing right there, never smiles,\u201d Trump said, gesturing to Collins.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe never&#8230; a young, beautiful woman [who] never smiles. I never see a smile off her face. I see her standing there with hatred in her eyes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Collins later did ask Trump a question, in an attempt to clear up confusion over the bill which has been labeled a slush fund.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cExcuse me, Mr. President, just to clarify on what you were asked earlier,\u201d Collins said. \u201cIs the $1.8 billion DOJ fund dead or is it on hold?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s, uh, I\u2019d have to ask the lawyers. I don\u2019t know,\u201d the elderly president said.<\/p>\n<p>Collins pressed Trump and asked, \u201cBut what\u2019s your decision on it?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe weaponization fund, as far as I\u2019m concerned, was a beautiful thing,\u201d the president responded, before telling Collins, \u201cI thought that was the greatest thing because people like you have abused our people so badly. She used to be a conservative from Alabama, can you believe it?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Collins previously worked for Tucker Carlson\u2019s conservative media outlet, <i>The Daily Caller.<\/i> The host of <i>The Source<\/i> told Trump, \u201cI\u2019m still from Alabama, sir,\u201d in response.<\/p>\n<p>Trump continued his attack on CNN, saying, \u201cNow they have new ownership maybe it\u2019ll straighten it out, but I doubt it&#8230; it\u2019s hard to straighten garbage out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The president said the people at the Capitol on Jan. 6 \u201care great people, people that went there with love&#8230;\u201d before slamming the Democrats, telling Collins, \u201cThere\u2019s something wrong with them, there\u2019s something wrong with you, it\u2019s a shame.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After playing that footage on <i>The Source<\/i>, Collins said, \u201cAttacks aside, the news there is the president defending this $1.8 billion fund while pushing questions about whether or not the door is permanently shut to the attorneys in his administration. He himself never said whether or not it could potentially move forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Collins did not address Trump again asking her to smile, which he also did during a press briefing at the White House in February.<\/p>\n<p>During an interview with Andy Cohen for <i>Watch What Happens Live<\/i> on Tuesday, Cohen asked Collins about Trump calling female reporters \u201cstupid\u201d and \u201cpigs,\u201d and asked if a journalist would ever \u201cbreak\u201d and fire back at the president.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMaybe, I don\u2019t know, right?\u201d Collins replied. \u201cNever say never, I guess. But I mean, I truly think as a reporter, you shouldn\u2019t make it about yourself.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Anderson Cooper also covered the issue on his show, saying Trump had done something \u201ccompletely unwarranted\u201d by \u201cverbally attacking\u201d Collins when she \u201cdid nothing to him ahead of it&#8230; at this point she was simply standing there doing her job.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s the president of the United States,\u201d Cooper said, \u201ca nearly 80-year-old man who has no problem commenting on her physical appearance and telling her she needs to smile.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cooper, 59, also clarified \u201cthat doesn\u2019t happen to men.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo one\u2018s ever said that to me in an office setting.
