{"id":6021,"date":"2026-08-24T21:40:58","date_gmt":"2026-08-24T21:40:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=6021"},"modified":"2026-08-24T21:40:58","modified_gmt":"2026-08-24T21:40:58","slug":"pentagons-secret-press-blacklist-exposed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=6021","title":{"rendered":"Pentagon\u2019s Secret Press Blacklist Exposed"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<p>The Pentagon has a secret list of journalists it will no longer speak to.<\/p>\n<p>An official at the Department of Defense, which has already infringed on journalists\u2019 rights, inadvertently revealed to a reporter at The Intercept that the blacklist exists, as he threatened the reporter that if they kept inquiring about Pentagon happenings, they too would be on it. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=6019\">Republican Torches Trump as Vance Campaigns for Her<\/a><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019ll be put on a list of people to disregard,\u201d Richard Allee, an executive assistant with CENTCOM public affairs, told The Intercept reporter, Nick Turse.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>When asked for further information about this apparent list, saying, \u201cYou have a list of people to disregard?\u201d Allee confirmed it, saying simply, \u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When asked to divulge who specifically is on the list, he replied: \u201cI\u2019m not privy to give you that information.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The Inercept further detailed that the reporter had been calling CENTCOM multiple times and was even placed on hold for more than two hours. Eventually, Allee picked up and said: \u201cThey\u2019re not going to answer your call if you just keep calling and calling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He then insulted the reporter, saying a \u201cless accusatory attitude towards the personnel here would go a lot further than badgering them when you don\u2019t get something you want, when you want it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It was then that the existence of the blacklist was revealed, with Allee saying, \u201cIt\u2019s not a list that we publicize,\u201d before he hung up.<\/p>\n<p>When reached for comment, Capt. Tim Hawkins, U.S. Central Command spokesperson, denied that CENTCOM kept such a list. He called The Intercept\u2019s article \u201ca complete misrepresentation of exchanges that occurred\u201d and accused the reporter of having \u201crepeatedly harassed CENTCOM staff who remained professional while expressing that his rude behavior was unacceptable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=6017\">Darline Graham Gets Testy With Voter in Awkward Encounter<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hawkins also told the Daily Beast that Allee was not a CENTCOM employee as The Intercept described him, but a contractor.<\/p>\n<p>Seth Stern, the director of advocacy for Freedom of the Press Foundation, strongly criticized the list, saying in a statement that \u201cthreatening journalists with placement on a blacklist in retaliation for reporting the government doesn\u2019t like is as unconstitutional as it gets.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis should put to rest the Pentagon\u2019s prior claims that its anti-press policies\u2014like its infamous requirement that reporters sign pledges to only print authorized information\u2014are somehow content neutral,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The news of the secret blacklist comes as the Defense Department under Pete Hegseth has crusaded against press freedoms to stifle unsavory coverage. <\/p>\n<p>In 2025, the Pentagon implemented new policies that revoked long-standing workspaces and credentials to fill the Pentagon with pro-Trump right-wing news organizations. <\/p>\n<p>It later went further by revoking press credentials from all journalists unless they signed onto a contract that forbade them from gathering or soliciting any information\u2013a basic tenet of journalism.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Tensions have continued, as just last week the Pentagon fired top leadership and journalists at the military-funded newspaper <i>Stars and Stripes, <\/i>which has a congressional mandate to stay editorially independent. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=6015\">MAGA Civil War Erupts Over \u2018Impersonator\u2019 of Kardashian Ally<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Pentagon has a secret list of journalists it will no longer speak to.
