He refused to touch on the downright bizarre letters Harp, 35, sent her boss, 80, including one where she said the president is \u201call that matters to her,\u201d instead accusing the press and critics of the relationship of misogyny. <\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s super misogynistic. I mean, the reality is she\u2019s a very talented person. She\u2019s very smart at what she does. She helps the president make sure he\u2019s communicating. And the fact that if it was a guy, nobody would say that,\u201d he added. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Moreno said that rumors are arising just because the $150,000-a-year special assistant and executive assistant to the president is \u201ca woman\u201d and \u201cobviously\u2026pretty.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen the reality is she\u2019s very talented, she\u2019s very, very smart. I happen to know her very well. It\u2019s also obviously a very kind person. She went through bone cancer in her twenties,\u201d Moreno said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI mean, look at the other day, I\u2019ve always said, let\u2019s just keep personal issues out,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=5984\">Republicans Turn on Trump\u2019s Plans as Midterms Loom<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Asked specifically about the fawning letters sent by Harp to the president, revealed in full by the Daily Beast, he said, \u201cI didn\u2019t read it, to be honest with you. I don\u2019t know if it\u2019s real or not real. But again, look, when you have a scenario where you work with somebody like that, you do develop a personal bond with somebody, but it doesn\u2019t mean it\u2019s anything other than a personal bond.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said \u201cadding\u201d anything to that platonic bond is unwarranted. \u201cI\u2019m not a big fan of all this personal stuff getting into politics. I think what the American people want is how you make your lives better,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>It comes after Moreno\u2019s personal life, or rather that of his daughter\u2019s, made headline news after he demanded that his former son-in-law, Rep. Max Miller, a fellow Ohio Republican, quit Congress over allegations of marital abuse.<\/p>\n<p>Harp also has the backing of the president\u2019s second son.
