{"id":5956,"date":"2026-08-23T22:10:52","date_gmt":"2026-08-23T22:10:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=5956"},"modified":"2026-08-23T22:10:52","modified_gmt":"2026-08-23T22:10:52","slug":"trumps-big-race-plagued-by-chaos-as-fans-swelter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=5956","title":{"rendered":"Trump\u2019s Big Race Plagued by Chaos as Fans Swelter"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<p>President Donald Trump\u2019s IndyCar race hit the National Mall amid logistical chaos, as attendees sweltering in the heat were forced to stand in long lines for water.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=5954\">Father of Sailor on USS Abraham Lincoln Arrested by ICE<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Thousands of people descended on Washington, D.C., on Sunday for the IndyCar Freedom 250 Grand Prix, a race created by an executive order Trump signed.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>In a pre-race interview on the track, the 80-year-old president touted his role in getting the event off the ground, claiming it \u201cgot done in about 15 minutes\u201d after multiple earlier failed attempts. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s turned out to be much bigger than we ever even thought possible,\u201d he told Fox Sports. \u201cYou have a lot of people that want to come, so it\u2019s turned out to be, I think, bigger and better.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>But Trump\u2019s \u201cbigger and better\u201d race appears to have needed some logistical fine-tuning.<\/p>\n<p>D.C.-based journalist Amanda Moore captured the race\u2019s apparent shortage of drinking water stations on video, showing a sea of attendees lined up at a booth with a sign reading \u201cWATER.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is one of the lines for water at the Freedom 250 Grand Prix,\u201d Moore wrote on X. \u201cPeople in the front told me they have been waiting for half an hour.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Those waiting were left standing in the sun as temperatures climbed to 84 degrees on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=5952\">Why Natalie Harp Is Trump\u2019s Most Sinister Goon: Author<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou can only get drinks in the middle, so if you are on the sides where you can see the actual track, you also have to stand in line to get bridge access to cross the track,\u201d Moore added in a second X post. <\/p>\n<p>Others complained that the event lacked enough grandstands to accommodate the more than 150,000 people who were expected to attend the race.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis grandstand is full and there is a massive queue to get into the grandstand once space opens,\u201d one attendee wrote on X alongside a video showing a long line snaking around the National Mall as spectators waited for seats to become available.<\/p>\n<p>Moore later noted that the chaos continued even after the checkered flag, with long lines forming on bridges as thousands tried to leave the event.<\/p>\n<p>The White House and IndyCar did not immediately respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The race\u2019s apparent issues are reminiscent of the logistical and weather problems that plagued Trump\u2019s state fair on the National Mall earlier this summer, when attendees at Trump\u2019s Fourth of July speech were thrown into disarray after bad weather triggered an evacuation order.
