{"id":5866,"date":"2026-08-21T19:09:20","date_gmt":"2026-08-21T19:09:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=5866"},"modified":"2026-08-21T19:09:20","modified_gmt":"2026-08-21T19:09:20","slug":"chief-justice-makes-crucial-ruling-on-future-of-trumps-tacky-ballroom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=5866","title":{"rendered":"Chief Justice Makes Crucial Ruling on Future of Trump\u2019s Tacky Ballroom"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<p>The Supreme Court has given Donald Trump the green light to keep building his White House ballroom as it considers whether the project is unlawful.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=5864\">Republicans Rebel as Trump Stumps for Nepo Sister Pick<\/a><\/p>\n<p>With a lower court injunction due to take effect within hours, Chief Justice John Roberts ruled that ballroom construction can proceed as the court ponders the president\u2019s emergency plea to intervene.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The decision comes despite lower courts finding that Trump could not unilaterally demolish parts of the White House or reshape federal property without approval and funding from Congress. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>However, the administration argued that the ballroom was a national security necessity and that any delay risked Trump\u2019s safety due to the various threats on his life.<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s lawyers also argued that the project\u2014which now forms part of an underground military complex complete with bomb shelters\u2014was built with material used in nuclear power plants that would be \u201cvirtually impossible to deconstruct.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cQuite frankly, if the building were tragically ordered to be taken down, or even altered, by the court, there would be no way to do so,\u201d said Solicitor General John Sauer.<\/p>\n<p>The Supreme Court\u2019s decision means that construction can continue while legal proceedings play out.<\/p>\n<p>The National Trust Preservation Committee filed the original lawsuit in December, accusing the president of overstepping his authority to fast-track the controversial project.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=5862\">Natalie Harp\u2019s Old Trump-Obsessed Twitter Account Exposed<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo president is legally allowed to tear down portions of the White House without any review whatsoever\u2014not President Trump, not President Biden, not anyone else,\u201d said the group\u2019s complaint, which was filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.<\/p>\n<p>In a major blow for the president, Bush-appointed Judge Richard Leon agreed with the group, ruling in March that the ballroom \u201cmust stop until Congress authorizes its completion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, Trump has spent the past few months appealing the decision while rushing to complete as much of the ballroom as possible.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, a divided federal appeals court voted 2-1 that the project should cease, resulting in Trump launching a 500-word diatribe on Truth Social, lashing out at the decision.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will be immediately appealing to the United States Supreme Court,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Military and Secret Service are viewing this horrendous, politically motivated, and unlawful ruling as a National Security threat to our Nation in that the entire Complex is being built for the protection of our Country and, additionally, all future Presidents.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the administration, construction is about 65 percent complete.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>This week, as the U.S. debt hit a record $40 trillion, he even took reporters on a tour of the demolished White House grounds to show how far the project had progressed.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The Daily Beast has reached out to the White House and the National Trust Preservation Committee for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=5861\">Judge Wrecks Trump\u2019s Excuse to Hold Back Wildfire Support<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Supreme Court has given Donald Trump the green light to keep building his White House ballroom as it considers whether the project is unlawful.
