Melania Trump is locked in a secret power struggle with Donald Trump\u2019s 35-year-old assistant, according to the president\u2019s biographer. <\/p>\n

White House aide Natalie Harp has become seemingly inseparable from President Donald Trump, and her near-constant presence is made all the more striking by Melania\u2019s conspicuous absence.<\/p>\n

\n

A Daily Beast analysis found that the 56-year-old first lady was seen in public just 47 times in 2025, after the president\u2019s Jan. 20 inauguration, and then just 38 days in the first seven months of 2026. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Melania is steering clear of her 80-year-old husband because she has little interest in sharing his side with Harp, according to Trump biographer Michael Wolff. <\/p>\n

In a new post on his Substack newsletter Howl, Wolff wrote that Harp\u2019s \u201ccentral presence\u201d in Trump\u2019s life helped explain why Melania rarely appeared alongside him on the 2024 campaign trail.<\/p>\n

\u201cMelania, whose appearances with her husband were carefully negotiated and choreographed, would not show up if Harp was around,\u201d Wolff wrote. \u201cSince Harp was always around, Melania never was\u2014appearing with her husband only in the last week of the campaign.\u201d<\/p>\n

Harp, meanwhile, went to extraordinary lengths to stay glued to Trump. <\/p>\n

When Trump moved his campaign operation from Palm Beach to his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, in 2023, she wasn\u2019t given a room. But she found a way to sleep nearby anyway, setting up a bed for herself in the maids\u2019 quarters, before managing to move even closer to Trump by camping out in the women\u2019s locker room, according to Wolff.<\/p>\n

During this time, Harp also reportedly wrote Trump a string of love letters that she would leave in his \u201cpersonal spaces,\u201d according to Regime Change<\/i>, the book by New York Timesreporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou are all that matters to me,\u201d one of the letters reportedly read. <\/p>\n

\u201cHarp superseded the White House staff and, as well, his wife and family,\u201d Wolff wrote. \u201cNobody got between Harp and Trump. And you only got to Trump by going through Harp.\u201d<\/p>\n

As Harp and Trump\u2019s attachment to each other appeared to deepen, Melania declined even to move into the White House after the president\u2019s return to office. She is believed to have decamped to New York instead. <\/p>\n

\u201cOther than at ceremonial occasions, or in a strictly official capacity, she has given up the role of wife,\u201d wrote Wolff, who has been clashing with Melania in court. \u201cPractically speaking, there is no room for her.\u201d<\/p>\n

The author noted that while no one in the Trump camp suspects a sexual relationship, there is nonetheless a conviction that Harp is hopelessly in love with Trump and determined to be his \u201chigher purpose bride.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a Christian devotional relationship,\u201d one Trump aide told Wolff.<\/p>\n

Melania\u2019s lawyer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n

When reached for comment, White House spokesman Davis Ingle told the Daily Beast, \u201cMichael Wolff is a professional scumbag and serial liar with s–t for brains.\u201d<\/p>\n
