{"id":5547,"date":"2026-08-17T08:09:29","date_gmt":"2026-08-17T08:09:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=5547"},"modified":"2026-08-17T08:09:29","modified_gmt":"2026-08-17T08:09:29","slug":"scott-jennings-faces-legal-threat-over-bogus-racism-claim","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=5547","title":{"rendered":"Scott Jennings Faces Legal Threat Over Bogus Racism Claim"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<p>Conservative commentator Scott Jennings is facing a legal threat over a bogus racism claim made against a popular left-wing streamer.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=5545\">Oscar-Nominated Director Dies at 97<\/a><\/p>\n<p>During his nationally syndicated radio show last Tuesday, Jennings, 48, aired a compilation of clips from Twitch influencer Hasan Piker, during a segment he called an \u201cexploration of the radical socialist streamer.\u201d<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Piker, 35, has over 3 million followers on Twitch, and live-streams on the platform for up to eight hours each day.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>After playing the spliced-together clips, Jennings said, \u201cNow [Abdul] El-Sayed\u2019s best friend is out there calling for Black voters to be lynched\u201d\u2014referring to the Michigan Democratic Senate nominee. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeneath all the smiles and dancing videos, there\u2019s nothing but hate and violence in the heart of these communists,\u201d Jennings added.<\/p>\n<p>Jennings, who is also regularly on CNN and has been talked of as the potential new White House press secretary, posted the clip on his radio show\u2019s social media channel, saying \u201cHere [sic] him in his OWN WORDS.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On Aug. 11, Jennings also shared a video where Piker appears to say \u201cI don\u2019t give a f&#8212; what Black people care about,\u201d and mentions going \u201cback to a better time when lynchings were happening.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>But an investigation by Snopes found that the video Jennings shared, including the derogatory remarks about Black people and him claiming he wishes the U.S. would return to a time of lynchings, is \u201cheavily edited and presents Piker\u2019s spoken words without full context, and in some cases out of order.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs such, it is misleading,\u201d Snopes found.<\/p>\n<p>Snopes found that videos had fragments of Piker\u2019s words \u201cstitched together out of context and out of order to twist their original import.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They added, \u201cA full review of Piker\u2019s unedited remarks confirms Jennings falsely claimed Piker said he was in favor of bringing back lynchings. In the original stream, Piker\u2019s remarks on lynchings were sarcastic reactions to a user\u2019s chat comment and opinions expressed by someone else in a separate video.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Piker is now planning legal action over what he considers to be defamatory comments, according to Status, saying the filing \u201cseems unavoidable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=5543\">Actress Turned OnlyFans Star Vows to \u2018Push Boundaries\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis kind of defamation is completely unacceptable,\u201d Piker told Status. \u201cIt\u2019s exactly how normal people perceive mainstream media to operate, and it\u2019s a real crisis of credibility. I think someone has to push back against it at some point.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Beast has contacted reps for Piker and Jennings for comment. <\/p>\n<p>Piker noted that the viral clips, taken from his lengthy Twitch streams, have become increasingly \u201cdeceptive\u201d and have been deliberately stripped of their original context.<\/p>\n<p>The self-described Marxist has previously courted controversy with quotes that still haunt him, including saying \u201cAmerica deserved 9\/11,\u201d \u201cThere\u2019s a lot we can learn from\u201d the Chinese Communist Party, and \u201cLet the streets soak in \u2026 red capitalist blood.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI stream for eight hours a day, seven days a week,\u201d Piker told Rolling Stone this month. \u201cI\u2019m gonna say some dumb s&#8211;t. But at the end of the day, we\u2019re talking about more than 10,000 hours of content, and they\u2019ve got like four quotes they keep hammering on to be like, \u2018This guy\u2019s a dangerous radical.\u2019 It\u2019s very silly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Piker also told Status that many traditional media broadcasters do not comprehend the dynamics of streaming, where creators can read extreme viewer comments and react to them in real time. When they are clipped and shared on social media, the context is often removed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven like the 10 seconds prior they don\u2019t watch. Or 10 seconds after, from these heavily edited\u201d clips, Piker told Status. \u201cI think a lot of people don\u2019t understand the medium, which I don\u2019t even fault them for.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While he said there are some people \u201cwho understand the medium and are cynically weaponizing it,\u201d he did not lump Jennings in that category, saying he did not believe he did not know what Twitch is.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think he understands the format that I occupy,\u201d Piker said, believing he was simply handed content by Republican political operatives to fire up dissent ahead of the midterms. <\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Piker told Status he had been forced to cut back on public appearances and tighten security, adding, \u201cI am getting inundated with death threats, so much more than ever before.
