Of all things.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The young boy, passionate about wildlife, quickly identified the creature because he watched educational YouTube videos about the freshwater fish, Michael said.<\/p>\n<p>Michael initially thought the fish could have been a bass when his son felt a bite. He told Seamus to reel it in slowly to stop it from getting away.<\/p>\n<p>When Seamus pulled it out of the water, Michael wasn\u2019t sure what it was.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was like, \u2018Oh, this is a bluegill, I don\u2019t know what this is,\u2019\u201d Michael told 6ABC. \u201cAnd he said, \u2018It\u2019s a piranha!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe knew it was a piranha from his educational fishing videos he watches all over the world,\u201d Michael added.<\/p>\n<p>The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission confirmed the catch was a piranha, a scary-looking fish native to South America. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=5482\">Troubling New Details Revealed in Nancy Guthrie Investigation<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mike Parker, spokesperson for the agency, added that the piranha catch reflected a greater issue for the Pennsylvania community\u2014people owning pets that they cannot care for and releasing them into the wild. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cA few times each summer we get reports of something strange like this type of fish, an alligator, a caiman\u2026 some sort of exotic snake, reptile, or in this case, a fish,\u201d Parker said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think a lot of times people do, you know, they have a dream: I want to own an exotic fish or a snake or an alligator, and it\u2019s cute when it\u2019s small,\u201d the spokesman said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut maybe they can\u2019t afford that or house it anymore, and they decide maybe this is someone else\u2019s problem.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Michael said he ended up disposing of the fish \u201chumanely,\u201d as it is illegal to release exotic species into Pennsylvania waters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve had some crazy fishing experiences, but that\u2019s definitely number one,\u201d Michael added.<\/p>\n<p>Parker added that while it is legal to own an exotic pet in the state, \u201cyou\u2019re not allowed to introduce that species into the wilds of Pennsylvania.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=5480\">Trump, 80, Fantasizes About Dead President in Bizarre Posting Spree<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo that is unlawful.
