Try to redeem yourself at least a little bit,\u201d she said, addressing Trump.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cHave some sympathy, some empathy, take some accountability for what\u2019s going on with <i>your<\/i> military, <i>your<\/i> ship, <i>your<\/i> war,\u201d she continued. \u201cIt\u2019s infuriating.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Her comments came just hours after Trump brushed off concerns from military families about the sailors\u2019 extended deployment. Asked on Friday whether family members were worried about conditions aboard the ship, Trump, who has never served in the military, replied: \u201cNo, they\u2019re not.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When he was asked whether the deployment had gone on too long, given the conditions and mental health risks, the president responded: \u201cNo, no, no. Not nearly long enough.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The sailor\u2019s wife told Tapper that her husband\u2019s experience aboard the ship has been radically different from Trump\u2019s characterization.<\/p>\n<p>She compared the sailors on the ship, which has been floating in the Arabian Sea during Trump\u2019s war with Iran, to being \u201cstuck in a floating metal prison in the middle of the water, eating prison-like food with the same people in the same bunk beds in the same small quarters for 200 days, 250 days. You start to go a little insane.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m appalled at the conditions on this ship,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>The woman pointed out that this is not her husband\u2019s first deployment aboard a Navy ship, meaning he knows how the vessels are supposed to operate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is the worst deployment he\u2019s ever been on,\u201d she said. \u201cHe also said the food\u2019s been appalling. It\u2019s been appalling the whole time&#8230; It\u2019s not only the quality but the quantity, the rationing, the portions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=5404\">White House Goon Melts Down at Daily Beast Star With Vile Slur<\/a><\/p>\n<p>She added: \u201cIt hurts my heart as his wife to know that he\u2019s going through that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Lincoln has been deployed for more than 260 days, with reports of food and supply shortages, poor maintenance, broken plumbing, mold and growing mental health concerns among sailors. The ship has also been the subject of reports about sailors attempting to go overboard.<\/p>\n<p>The sailor\u2019s wife said the stress and 12-hour workdays were taking a serious toll on her husband\u2019s mental health.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy husband is a very leave-it-at-work type of person,\u201d she told Tapper. While he \u201cworks very hard for the United States military,\u201d he usually \u201clets it go at work.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut he even said he finds himself changing; he feels himself angrier and more frustrated. That\u2019s very unlike him. It\u2019s very hard to hear that as his wife,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>She sends him \u201ccare packages\u201d and photos of their children in a desperate bid to \u201cboost his morale.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Beast has reached out to the White House for comment.<\/p>\n<p>The Trump administration has pushed back forcefully against reports of poor conditions aboard the Lincoln. <\/p>\n<p>Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth called the reporting \u201ccompletely misrepresented,\u201d while Acting Navy Secretary Hung Cao said sailors had been pushed to their limits but \u201chave never broken.\u201d<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Military families, however, have continued to demand answers.
