Mandelson maintained a long-standing friendship with Epstein even after the pedophile\u2019s 2008 conviction for sex offenses.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Mandelson was ultimately sacked as U.K. ambassador to the U.S. in September 2025 over his links to Epstein.<\/p>\n<p>Dozens of email exchanges between Mandelson and senior British government officials were released as part of the files.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the emails revealed that Trump requested a red dispatch box as a gift from British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.<\/p>\n<p>Red boxes, also known as ministerial boxes, are secure cases used by government ministers and officials to transport important documents.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=523\">MAGA Melts Down as \u201860 Minutes\u2019 Star Torches New Boss<\/a><\/p>\n<p>According to the files, Trump wanted the box to have its own gold crest and the inscription \u201cPresident of the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, according to an email from former top British Foreign Office official Sir Olly Robbins, the British embassy in Washington was \u201cclear\u201d that the box would \u201cmean the most to the President.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The emails reveal that the box was discussed in depth between senior British Foreign Office officials ahead of Trump\u2019s state visit to Britain in September last year, and that it was priced and designed, with the manufacturer saying it would take 8\u201310 weeks to make.<\/p>\n<p>But the files show there were delays in making the box. Amid those delays, Mandelson told then\u2013No 10 chief of staff Morgan McSweeney that he\u2019d \u201cgone tonto\u201d and described the \u201csaga\u201d as \u201clike something out of [the British TV comedy show] <i>The Thick of It<\/i>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In a separate message that month about the proposed gift, he also said the issue had already been raised as far back as February, adding: \u201cNobody had the wit to say anything.
