Anna Paulina Luna.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Shannon Burns, chairman of Strongsville GOP, claimed the rally was canceled due to \u201cthe number and nature of the threats received\u201d in a statement on the organization\u2019s website. However, Brunswick Police Chief Robert Safran told WXVU that local police were not made aware of any threats regarding the event.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for Miller did not clarify whether any credible threats were received.<\/p>\n<p>Miller, 43, has defiantly refused to drop out of his congressional race amid mounting pressure from Republicans to step down, including from fellow Ohio Republicans.<\/p>\n<p>Miller\u2019s ex-father-in-law, Ohio Sen. Bernie Moreno, had been tight-lipped about Miller\u2019s dispute with his daughter, Emily Moreno, until last week, when he called on him to \u201cseek professional help to end the clear pattern of abuse he has left in his wake.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe he should not be free to continue endangering others until he does,\u201d Moreno wrote in an emotional statement on X. When questioned about Miller, Ohio Sen. John Husted, also a Republican, told news outlets that \u201cany member of Congress who\u2019s involved in domestic abuse should resign.\u201d He later wrote on X that he believes \u201cMax would be making the right decision to step aside as a candidate and resign from Congress to focus on what is in the best interest of his daughter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=5141\">Trump Targets Dem\u2019s Wife in Truth Social Posting Frenzy<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The official deadline for Miller, a former White House staffer during Trump\u2019s first term, to drop out and allow the Ohio Republican Party to name a new candidate on the November ballot is Monday, which Miller has said he intends to let pass. Republicans have expressed fear that his district, long seen as a reliable red area, is now at risk of being flipped by his Democratic opponent, Brian Poindexter.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, a new poll from a Democratic Brook Park City Council member showed Miller trailing Poindexter by 14 points, The Hill reported.<\/p>\n<p>Miller and Moreno\u2019s daughter, GOP political operative Emily Moreno, have been engaged in a bitter custody battle over their 2-year-old daughter. Their legal dispute has publicized Moreno\u2019s allegations that the two-term congressman has poured hot water on her, beaten her, pointed a gun at her, and broken the collarbone of their toddler. He has repeatedly denied the allegations and has sued Emily Moreno for defamation.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, the House Ethics Committee opened an investigation into Miller after he wrote on X that he is filing an ethics complaint against himself in an effort to exonerate himself.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis isn\u2019t about defending myself. I\u2019m speaking up as a father, trying to protect our daughter. For months, my family and I have watched how people have been relentlessly attacked,\u201d Miller has said.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Miller\u2019s dispute with his ex-wife isn\u2019t the first time domestic abuse allegations have been leveled at him. During Miller\u2019s stint in the Trump administration, he had a romantic relationship with former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham, who accused him of pushing her and slapping her across the face when she confronted him about cheating.
