{"id":5102,"date":"2026-08-08T05:35:20","date_gmt":"2026-08-08T05:35:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=5102"},"modified":"2026-08-08T05:35:20","modified_gmt":"2026-08-08T05:35:20","slug":"ballroom-judges-slip-brutal-message-into-scathing-trump-ruling","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=5102","title":{"rendered":"Ballroom Judges Slip Brutal Message Into Scathing Trump Ruling"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<p>President Donald Trump is running out of time to get his precious White House ballroom completed, following Friday\u2019s major legal setback.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=5101\">Trump, 80, Sets Sights on New Government Office He Plans to Loot<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia ordered construction on the ballroom to be stopped because Congress\u2014not the president\u2014has the ultimate say in major White House renovations.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cCongress has not ceded unfettered authority to the Executive Branch to dramatically redesign, reshape, and reconstruct the White House\u2014the People\u2019s \u200bHouse\u2014to fit a particular President\u2019s desires,\u201d the panel wrote in its 2-1 ruling, with only a Trump-appointed judge dissenting. \u201cEach president is a temporary tenant, not the owner, of the White House and its Executive Residence.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The order is now on hold for two weeks to allow the Trump administration to appeal to the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<p>But if the 80-year-old president wants to go through Congress to see his vanity project through, he had better get going, the Daily Beast\u2019s Joanna Coles and Hugh Dougherty said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFirst of all, he would have to get some legislation drawn up very, very quickly, rushed through Congress, which is&#8230; gone for its vacation,\u201d Dougherty said on <i>The Daily Beast Podcast<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think he\u2019s going to get support,\u201d Dougherty added, citing the fuel that such a vote would give Democrats in the midterms. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut even if he does, he then has to get it through the Senate. That might be something that could be filibustered; it depends how he draws up this legislation. The appropriation of funds could just be a budget measure, but there\u2019s a whole can of worms here that\u2019s been opened.\u201d <\/p>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cAnd he\u2019s running out of time,\u201d Coles added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is running against the clock,\u201d Dougherty agreed. \u201cHe\u2019s got until&#8230; the start of January to get&#8230; his control of Congress, to get this through. But after November it\u2019s a lame duck session.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=5100\">Top General Holds Secret Talks About Ending Iran War Behind Trump\u2019s Back<\/a><\/p>\n<p>During that period, many might not want to \u201cdo Trump any favors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In response to the appeals court\u2019s ruling, Trump insisted the structure should be allowed to progress due to national security reasons.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is all tied together as one big, expensive, and very complex unit, which is vital for National Security and Military Operations of the United States of America!\u201d the president wrote on Truth Social, adding, \u201cThis unjust decision must be overturned by the Supreme Court in its entirety.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The White House did not immediately respond to the Daily Beast\u2019s request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>As part of our America250 series, produced in partnership with PMI U.S., US Businesses of Philip Morris International, Coles also spoke with Jeffrey Sonnenfeld to discuss the future of artificial intelligence, higher education, and the labor force.<\/p>\n<p>Sonnenfeld, the Senior Associate Dean for Leadership Studies &amp; Lester Crown Professor in the Practice of Management at Yale, said that while universities don\u2019t have a \u201cmonopoly on repositories of knowledge,\u201d they still are the place to go in order to learn how to think.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA lot of the advice that we were often giving people\u2014to somehow chase this golden fleece of technology to be your solution for a great life, great career\u2014that\u2019s not quite it,\u201d Sonnenfeld said, as AI has drawn concerns about taking jobs away from graduates, especially computer science students.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut learning how to think is the role of the university. And that\u2019s where there still is a great value added. Universities are, to this nation, one of the few sectors where we have a positive trade balance. You name all the major developments, whether or not it\u2019s in life sciences and mRNA or anything having to do with cryptocurrency or the cloud or, of course, AI itself\u2014it comes from the university at the root.
