{"id":5051,"date":"2026-08-07T04:20:02","date_gmt":"2026-08-07T04:20:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=5051"},"modified":"2026-08-07T04:20:02","modified_gmt":"2026-08-07T04:20:02","slug":"trump-plots-new-path-after-supreme-court-humiliation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=5051","title":{"rendered":"Trump Plots New Path After Supreme Court Humiliation"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<p>President Donald Trump is charting a new course on one of his key obsessions after being humiliated by the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=5049\">Betrayed Republican Senator to Expose Trumpworld in Scathing New Memoir<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Controlling birthright citizenship has been one of Trump\u2019s biggest priorities as part of the MAGA crackdown on immigration. <\/p>\n<div>\n<p>On Thursday, Trump, 80, signed two executive orders that would put limits on birthright citizenship after SCOTUS ruled in June that his previous efforts on the issue were unconstitutional.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>In a 6-3 ruling, the Supreme Court said Trump\u2019s prior executive order to end birthright citizenship for all children born on U.S. soil violated the 14th Amendment. He issued the executive order on his first day in office in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>After the brutal loss, Trump has vowed to find a new path to bypass the long-standing constitutional right.<\/p>\n<p>His first new executive order said children would be ineligible for citizenship if they were born to an \u201calien enemy\u201d such as members of foreign terrorist organizations, or children of foreign lobbyists.<\/p>\n<p>The second order said children of people who fraudulently request tourist visas for the purpose of giving birth in the U.S. would not automatically become citizens.<\/p>\n<p>The Constitution\u2019s 14th Amendment has long been interpreted as guaranteeing citizenship for all babies born in the U.S., with only narrow exceptions such as the children of foreign diplomats or members of an enemy occupying force.<\/p>\n<p>Trump defended his new orders on Thursday, after signing them accompanied by White House deputy chief of staff for policy Stephen Miller.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople are building businesses around it,\u201d Trump said. \u201cWealthy people are building businesses around birthright citizenship. That\u2019s not the way it\u2019s supposed to work. It\u2019s a disgrace. They\u2019re buying their way in, and we\u2019re not going to let it happen.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=5047\">Trump Judge Gives Him Massive Break in $10 Billion Lawsuit<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The president claimed there were \u201chundreds of thousands\u201d of people attempting to have children in the U.S., claiming two examples of unnamed individuals who came to the U.S. and had 56 and 98 children respectively.<\/p>\n<p>He said the 14th Amendment was \u201cmeant for the babies of slaves, it was&#8230; right after&#8230; the Civil War ended. This wasn\u2019t for wealthy multi-millionaires, billionaires coming in and bringing 15, 20, 30 children along with them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There are roughly 3.5 million births in the U.S. each year. The Migration Policy Institute claimed in April that an estimated 26,000 may fall into the \u201cbirth tourism\u201d category.<\/p>\n<p>Trump also slammed the original Supreme Court ruling, saying it was a \u201c bad decision, very unfair decision.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He told reporters in the Oval Office, \u201cOur country suffers because of it, and we\u2019re ending it a different way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When asked if his new order will pass the Supreme Court, Trump said, \u201cI think it will.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Both of Trump\u2019s new orders are expected to be challenged in court.<\/p>\n<p>The American Civil Liberties Union, which successfully challenged Trump\u2019s first attempt to limit birthright citizenship, condemned the president\u2019s new orders.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Supreme Court already decided this issue: Birthright citizenship is guaranteed by the Constitution,\u201d Cody Wofsy, deputy director of the ACLU\u2019s Immigrants\u2019 Rights Project, said in a statement to the Associated Press. <\/p>\n<p>Wofsy served as lead counsel for the plaintiffs in the Supreme Court case.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo additional executive order can change the meaning of the Constitution.
