Donald Trump has erupted at Jeff Bezos\u2019 Washington Post<\/i>, branding its reporting as \u201ctreasonous\u201d after a bombshell report claiming he confronted Pete Hegseth over dwindling munitions stockpiles.<\/p>\n

The furious social media tirade came after the Post<\/i> reported that Trump had clashed with Hegseth during a meeting at Camp David last week over weapons shortages due to the war in Iran.<\/p>\n

\n

According to the newspaper, Trump told Hegseth he believed the problem \u201chad been fixed\u201d and expressed frustration that he had not been fully informed about the state of U.S stockpiles.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

But in a Truth Social post on Thursday afternoon, the president said he was \u201cextremely happy\u201d with the job his Defense Secretary was doing and that \u201ceverything has been extraordinary\u201d\u2014including the conflict with Iran.<\/p>\n

He also gave the Post a new MAGA nickname: The Washington ComPost.<\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cPete is highly respected within the Military, and has made tremendous improvements, including getting rid of DEI, and increasing recruitment to historic levels,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis rumor was started by The Washington ComPost, one of the worst Media Outlets in the business, despite our telling them their story is completely FALSE. In actuality, I really believe their fake \u201creporting\u201d is treasonous!\u201d<\/p>\n

The president\u2019s latest attack on the press comes as concerns over America\u2019s precision-guided missile stockpiles have become an increasingly sensitive issue for the administration. <\/p>\n

Multiple media outlets have reported that heavy operational demands have strained inventories such as Patriot interceptors and other advanced munitions.<\/p>\n

With the war now in its sixth month and a peace deal remaining elusive, the White House and the Pentagon face mounting questions about the state of the military\u2019s arsenal.<\/p>\n

\u201cEach day, the signs of the enemy\u2019s diminishing capabilities become more apparent,\u201d Defense Minister Majid Ibn-e-Reza posted on X in response to the reports of low munitions. <\/p>\n

\u201cBut our Armed Forces\u2014backed by the nation\u2019s defence industry\u2014are fully equipped to respond to any threat.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, Trump has denied reports that the U.S. is suffering a shortage and vowed in a separate social media post to seek \u201clong-term jail sentences\u201d for those suspected of leaking information.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe U.S. has massive amounts of \u2018munitions,\u2019 especially of certain types,\u201d Trump said in a separate angry post on Thursday morning. <\/p>\n

\u201cAdditionally, large amounts are being manufactured and shipped to the U.S. as needed.\u201d<\/p>\n

The president has a long history of attacking the media over articles he doesn\u2019t like. <\/p>\n

But his latest attack is notable because he has enjoyed a surprisingly cordial relationship with Bezos since returning to office. <\/p>\n

The Amazon founder attended Trump\u2019s second inauguration, has been welcomed to the White House, and has sought to improve ties with the administration as Amazon and his other businesses.<\/p>\n
