Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw, 42, joined the bizarre feud involving Vice President JD Vance and conservative stalwart Marc Thiessen over the cost of burritos, triggering even his fellow MAGA Republicans.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cJust hearing about this dumb $20 burrito debate so just thought I\u2019d make the losers on social media angry before going to bed,\u201d Crenshaw wrote in an X post on Wednesday, referring to the heated affordability debate in MAGAworld.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cStop whining, get a job, eat Ramen like the rest of us did in college, on a budget with 4 roommates. The market doesn\u2019t care what you think something \u2018should\u2019 cost,\u201d he argued. \u201cOnly communists care (they set prices remember? Then everyone starves, remember?) Are you a communist? Or are you an American adult male capable of handling his own shit?\u201d<\/p>\n

The saga started when right-wing commentator Matt Walsh pointed out that grocery prices have become \u201cinsane\u201d and urged leaders to make the cost of living crisis their top priority instead of \u201cstupid foreign wars.\u201d<\/p>\n

Turning Point USA spokesperson Andrew Kolvet chimed in to offer anecdotal evidence on college students\u2019 views on affordability.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018A burrito shouldn\u2019t cost $20,\u2019\u201d Kolvet quoted one college student as telling him. \u201cYeah, a lot of this is a hangover from Covid and Biden-era inflation, but the lived experience is the same: It just feels like basic things cost too much.\u201d<\/p>\n

But that take appeared to trigger Thiessen, who responded, \u201cCry me a river. The burritos in the college cafeteria are included in your meal plan.\u201d<\/p>\n

The chronically online vice president then decided to jump in with an unprovoked attack on Thiessen\u2019s weight.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m surprised to hear Mark say this,\u201d Vance wrote, misspelling Thiessen\u2019s first name. \u201cIf you\u2019ve ever met him in person, it\u2019s quite obvious the man has never missed a burrito.\u201d<\/p>\n

Crenshaw appeared to take Thiessen\u2019s side of the tense debate, but no one was having it.<\/p>\n

Alex Bruesewitz, a Trump adviser and MAGA firebrand, reposted Crenshaw\u2019s take with a message to his fellow conservatives.<\/p>\n

\u201cRepublicans: It would be wise not to take messaging advice from Dan Crenshaw. His own \u2018messaging\u2019 just got him beaten by double digits in a Republican primary in a deep-red Texas seat. He is politically incompetent and inept,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

MAGA pundit Ryan James Girdusky similarly mocked Crenshaw for losing in the Republican primary in Texas\u2019 second Congressional district.<\/p>\n

\u201cCan\u2019t understand why you lost your re-election,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

Eduardo Neret, a conservative commentator who used to work for Tucker Carlson, also weighed in.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen it\u2019s regular Americans concerned with grocery prices, they say \u2018stop whining,\u2019\u201d he said. \u201cWhen it\u2019s their donors complaining about labor costs, they help manipulate the market with mass immigration to keep costs down.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n

Crenshaw has a net worth of about $1.3 million. Earlier this year<\/u>, his wealth became the subject of controversy when conservative podcaster Shawn Ryan accused him of insider trading while in office. Crenshaw called the allegations \u201cmanufactured.\u201d<\/p>\n
