Democratic strategist James Carville shared a bold forecast for how things will shake out if President Donald Trump resigns from office.<\/p>\n

Appearing on The Daily Beast Podcast, the former Bill Clinton aide reiterated his prediction that Trump, 80, will quit in disgrace if Republicans lose big in November. <\/p>\n

\u201cI think he\u2019s gonna get up and walk out of it,\u201d Carville, 81, told host Joanna Coles. \u201cHe\u2019s going to lose so decisively in November.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cHis power is going to just seep right out. No one\u2019s going to even care,\u201d he continued. \u201cPeople really don\u2019t care what he says anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, it\u2019s what the veteran politico says he\u2019ll do next that\u2019s even more shameful.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s easy. He calls in JD Vance, and he says, \u2018JD, I\u2019ve decided I\u2019m going to resign, I\u2019m going to go back. You\u2019re going to be the president, but your first act, that I have right here, as soon as you\u2019re sworn in, you\u2019re going to sign a pardon\u2014pardon me for everything imaginable,\u2019\u201d Carville said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause he can\u2019t take the risk,\u201d he continued. \u201cThere is some doubt as to the legality of a self-pardon. There\u2019s some doubt. He has to eradicate that doubt.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vance, the politico explained, would absolutely hold pardon authority if Trump were to resign and he were to become president. But even if his prediction were wrong and Trump served the entirety of his four-year term, Carville said that the president \u201cwould still resign two days before to be sure he got the pardon, and it was done.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat guy\u2019s not gonna take any chance with this at all,\u201d he added. \u201cAnd… to believe the contrary is just to be an idiot.\u201d<\/p>\n

The White House did not immediately return the Daily Beast\u2019s request for comment.<\/p>\n

Regarding the behaviors Trump would be wise to pardon himself for, Carville highlighted the president\u2019s vanity project fundraising scheme with his \u201cprincess of darkness\u201d Meredith O\u2019Rourke, as reported by the Wall Street Journal last week, as a prime example.<\/p>\n

The Journal reported that Trump calls O\u2019Rourke, a longtime Florida fundraiser, every night to see how much money she has generated for his pet projects, including his tacky White House ballroom-bunker and his July Fourth celebrations.<\/p>\n

Donors, who include both companies and wealthy individuals, are asked to donate anywhere between $5 million and $50 million towards Trump\u2019s agenda. \u201cThe boss wants this money,\u201d O\u2019Rourke is understood to have said, in reference to Trump.<\/p>\n

Many of these donors would go on to benefit from the White House\u2019s regulatory decisions, according to the Rupert Murdoch-owned newspaper.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat is more unethical than being President of the United States and charging people for an official deed?\u201d Carville asked. \u201cIt\u2019s right there. You pay if you want to play. You pay.\u201d<\/p>\n
