James Talarico is leading perpetually scandal-ridden Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton 51 percent to 48 percent in the race for U.S. Senate, so much so that he rubbished his employer\u2019s survey. <\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Hannity was debating Bill de Blasio on Tuesday\u2019s edition of <i>Hannity<\/i>, when the former New York City mayor cut across the host\u2019s bizarre rant about Talarico to remind him that people intend to vote for him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cDid you read your own poll today where Talarico is beating Paxton?\u201d de Blasio asked.<\/p>\n<p>This sent Hannity into a spiral. \u201cOK, I don\u2019t believe it for two seconds,\u201d he said of the Fox News poll. \u201cNot for two.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The poll aired on Thursday, and it shows the 37-year-old Democrat leading Paxton by 3 points, as well as gaining ground among key constituencies\u2014heralding a potential upset that could help Democrats gain control of the Senate in November\u2019s midterms.<\/p>\n<p>It shows him winning 68 percent of independents, 98 percent of Democrats, and about a quarter of non-MAGA Republicans. Talarico is the preferred choice among white evangelical Christians, white men without a college degree, rural voters, regular worship attenders, men, and voters ages 65 and older.<\/p>\n<p>Talarico is also popular with Black voters, a turnaround after claiming only a fifth of Black votes in Houston and Dallas in a contentious primary win in March over U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett.<\/p>\n<p>He also polled well with moderates, voters under age 30, Hispanic voters, women and voters with a college degree.<\/p>\n<p>Paxton defeated Cornyn for the Republican Senate nomination in May after winning Trump\u2019s endorsement despite a string of controversies including longstanding securities fraud charges, impeachment in the Texas House of Representatives, and a messy divorce in which he was accused of adultery.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=4938\">Pirro Gave Trump a Show and Tell of Reflecting Pool\u2019s Issues<\/a><\/p>\n<p>But it was Talarico that Hannity wanted to nail, calling him \u201cSix-Gender Talarico,\u201d adding that he \u201cbelieves God is non-binary\u2026believes biological men should play women\u2019s sports, and believes that biological men should have access to abortion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>De Blasio reminded the host that Talarico\u2019s main concerns are \u201ccommonsense, kitchen-table issues,\u201d calling the scenario \u201cthe worst nightmare for Republicans.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you lose [political strategist] James Carville, and [late-night host] Bill Maher, and you lose [CEO of Stagwell Inc] Mark Penn, who was just on, and [Sen.] John Fetterman [D-PA], and [former Sen.] Joe Manchin [I-WV], I\u2019m telling you, it\u2019s a canary in the coal mine,\u201d Hannity claimed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNope,\u201d responded de Blasio. \u201cYoung voters are gonna change these elections. You\u2019re gonna be surprised, and they\u2019re gonna be with the Democrats.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump is clearly worried about Talarico, often weighing in to downgrade his campaign. He christened the young politician \u201cTalafreako\u201d during his speech at the White House Correspondents\u2019 Dinner last month.<\/p>\n<p>The 80-year-old president said Talarico \u201chates guns, hates oil, hates sex, hates women, and says he is a \u2018Christian who hates Christianity.\u2019 Other than that, I think his platform is quite good.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He has also compared Talarico\u2019s appearance to that of Alfred E. Neuman, the Mad magazine mascot introduced in 1954. <\/p>\n<p>In a Truth Social tirade in May, Trump said Talarico might be \u201cthe worst TEXAS candidate I have ever seen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Fox News poll is not the only one that spells trouble for Paxton. Talarico leads him 47 percent to 45 percent, according to a  of 1,200 likely voters by the Barbara Jordan Public Policy Research and Survey Center at Texas Southern University released this week.
