{"id":4622,"date":"2026-07-31T07:40:18","date_gmt":"2026-07-31T07:40:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=4622"},"modified":"2026-07-31T07:40:18","modified_gmt":"2026-07-31T07:40:18","slug":"troubling-update-revealed-in-nancy-guthrie-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=4622","title":{"rendered":"Troubling Update Revealed in Nancy Guthrie Case"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<p>DNA testing of hair from the home of Nancy Guthrie has not led investigators closer to a suspect in her disappearance, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said Thursday. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=4620\">Katie Miller Melts Down After Stunning Hypocrisy Revealed<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Nanos told ABC News about the discouraging forensic development in the investigation into <i>Today<\/i> show host Savannah Guthrie\u2019s 84-year-old mother, who has been missing since early February, <\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cThe hair was done&#8230; and there was nothing,\u201d Nanos said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The FBI\u2019s Phoenix office also confirmed the news in a statement to NBC News, saying that \u201call hair had been resolved and it does not point to a suspect\u201d in the investigation. It declined to comment further.<\/p>\n<p>Nanos said finding DNA on hair is \u201cextremely rare.\u201d He added to NBC News, \u201cHair doesn\u2019t produce DNA like touch DNA or bodily fluids.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, a mixed DNA sample retrieved from Guthrie\u2019s Tucson-area home contains up to four people, Nanos told ABC. Labs in multiple states\u2014including the FBI lab in Quantico, Virginia\u2014are working on singling out the contributors, but it remains to be seen whether that is possible.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy understanding is there are at least five, maybe six, labs across the country that are working on all of this,\u201d Nanos explained. \u201cWe have some of the brightest minds in the nation, if not the world, working on this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s also unclear is the number of suspects who played a role in Guthrie\u2019s Feb. 1 disappearance. Guthrie\u2019s doorbell camera captured a masked, backpack-wearing figure on her doorstep hours before she was reported missing\u2014as well as a masked person on a prior day\u2014but further evidence has been hard to come by.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think anybody\u2019s here ready to say it\u2019s one guy, it\u2019s 10 guys,\u201d Nanos said. \u201cDid he have help? On Monday, shereleased a video addressing her mother\u2019s kidnapper or kidnappers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe world can be a cruel and unforgiving place, and I know that you have tried to do things the right way. So I\u2019m asking you, begging you to do the right thing now. Make the right choice. Help us find her. Tell us where to look for her. I truly believe it is never too late to do the right thing,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Nanos reiterated: \u201cSomebody in our community, somebody out in this world knows something. Call us, tell us, give us that information. Somebody knows where Nancy\u2019s at. We need their help.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite multiple ransom notes and the high-profile nature of the matter, authorities have been unable to produce any consequential leads into her disappearance.<\/p>\n<p>Amid criticism of the sheriff\u2019s handling of the stalled investigation, Nanos told People in May that the department is getting closer to answers.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cEvery day our DNA labs are working with our investigators and they\u2019re coming up with different ideas and different thoughts of how to help them make this DNA work for us,\u201d Nanos said. \u201cHow can we do more with what we have?
