{"id":4423,"date":"2026-07-28T13:11:07","date_gmt":"2026-07-28T13:11:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=4423"},"modified":"2026-07-28T13:11:07","modified_gmt":"2026-07-28T13:11:07","slug":"green-slime-pool-case-witness-makes-bombshell-admission","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=4423","title":{"rendered":"Green Slime Pool Case Witness Makes Bombshell Admission"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<p>A key witness in the case against a former Olympian charged with vandalism at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool admitted that the landmark was already damaged\u2014and would have needed thousands of dollars\u2019 worth of repairs anyway. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=4422\">Trump, 80, Secretly Spirals About Death<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The president spent months hyping his renovations of the famed monument, only for the $16 million \u201crepairs\u201d to result in peeling blue sealant and a record-breaking algal bloom that turned the water slime green. <\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Instead of blaming the companies that received no-bid contracts to complete the work, Trump claimed the damage was the work of vandals and ordered a law-enforcement blitz at the site. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Former Olympic canoeist David Hearn was arrested and charged with felony destruction of property\u2014a charge that carries a sentence of up to 10 years in prison\u2014after he stopped at the Reflecting Pool during a bike ride and put his hand in the water. <\/p>\n<p>But during the grand jury proceedings that led to his indictment, the sole government witness who testified about the damage Hearn allegedly caused \u201ccould not quantify any loss\u201d attributable to Hearn\u2019s conduct, according to a new court filing from Hearn\u2019s legal team. <\/p>\n<p>The witness, who was not identified, testified the property was already damaged before Hearn touched it, and that about $6,000 to $15,000 was needed to fix the immediate area.<\/p>\n<p>Those repairs would have still been necessary \u201cbefore the defendant interacted with the pool,\u201d according to the witness, who could not answer a grand juror\u2019s question about the difference in estimated costs before and after Hearn\u2019s actions, according to the filing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSimply put, the government\u2019s witness could not identify <i>any <\/i>additional cost caused by Mr. Hearn\u2019s alleged conduct,\u201d the filing said. \u201cIndeed, the witness did not even say or suggest that the alleged conduct had compromised the liner at all.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=4420\">Stephen Miller Flips Out About \u2018Freaks\u2019 and \u2018Weirdos\u2019 in Bonkers Fox News Rant<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The testimony was included in partial grand jury transcripts provided to the defense, which is now seeking the full transcripts and legal instructions provided to the grand jurors.<\/p>\n<p>The witness\u2019 answers raised questions about whether the grand jury was properly instructed about elements of the case\u2014including the fact that the felony charge required Hearn to have caused more than $1,000 in damages, Hearn\u2019s lawyers argued. <\/p>\n<p>The Daily Beast has reached out to the Department of Justice for comment. <\/p>\n<p>The case was brought by the U.S. attorney\u2019s office for the District of Columbia, which is headed by former Fox News host and staunch Trump ally Jeanine Pirro. <\/p>\n<p>Over the past several months, federal judges have found that prosecutors with Trump\u2019s DOJ engaged in\u2014and at times tried to cover up\u2014grand jury misconduct, including improperly speaking to jurors outside the courtroom, coaching them on the evidence presented, and dismissing grand jurors who refused to indict defendants. <\/p>\n<p>In asking for the release of the full transcripts, Hearn\u2019s lawyers argued that the historic \u201cpresumption of regularity\u201d afforded by courts to the DOJ \u201chas been thoroughly eroded by current Department leadership, including in the District of Columbia.\u201d <\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The DOJ has previously said that reported cases of jury misconduct were isolated incidents that did not reflect on the department\u2019s overall record. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=4418\">Shocking Scale of Trump\u2019s \u2018Torture\u2019 Cruelty Exposed<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A key witness in the case against a former Olympian charged with vandalism at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool admitted that the landmark was already damaged\u2014and would have needed thousands of dollars\u2019 worth of repairs anyway.
