{"id":4356,"date":"2026-07-27T15:43:29","date_gmt":"2026-07-27T15:43:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=4356"},"modified":"2026-07-27T15:43:29","modified_gmt":"2026-07-27T15:43:29","slug":"cracker-barrel-ceo-resigns-after-maga-meltdown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=4356","title":{"rendered":"Cracker Barrel CEO Resigns After MAGA Meltdown"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<p>The CEO of the southern-style casual restaurant chain Cracker Barrel is stepping down less than a year after major MAGA figures lost their minds over the company\u2019s brief logo redesign. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=4354\">Cops Went After Dem Star Because of \u2018Mentally Unstable\u2019 Tipster<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The company unveiled a new logo last summer that eliminated its distinctive old man sitting by a barrel, a design choice that CEO Julie Felss Masino said was supposed to make the chain more visible on highway billboards. <\/p>\n<div>\n<p>But members of the MAGA-verse, including Donald Trump Jr., blamed the move on \u201csoulless\u201d corporate branding\u2014and Masino\u2019s supposedly woke ideology. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>After President Donald Trump weighed in, the company killed the new logo; dropped its commitments to LGBTQ+ Pride and diversity, equity, and inclusion; and halted plans to remodel some of its 660 locations. <\/p>\n<p>It also, apparently, began searching for a new CEO. <\/p>\n<p>According to a statement from the company, Masino is resigning effective Aug. 10 following a \u201ccomprehensive succession planning and searching process.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The statement didn\u2019t say when or why the search began. The Daily Beast has reached out to Cracker Barrel for comment. <\/p>\n<p>Masino, who was hired as Cracker Barrel\u2019s president and CEO in July 2023, will remain with the company in an advisory capacity until October to \u201csupport a smooth transition,\u201d according to the company\u2019s statement. <\/p>\n<p>She\u2019s being replaced by David Deno, who previously served as CEO for Bloomin\u2019 Brands, which owns several casual dining chains including Outback Steakhouse.<\/p>\n<p>After the MAGA logo maelstrom last summer, Masino was targeted by a long-time activist investor, but the company\u2019s shareholders voted to retain her in November, the Wall Street Journal reported. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=4352\">Trump Unveils Bonkers 660-Mile Ego Trip<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Tennessee-based restaurant chain had commissioned the new logo as part of a broader effort to regain relevancy and appeal to younger customers, not just retirees and families on road trips, Masino told investors in May 2024, as reported by Business Insider.<\/p>\n<p>The campaign included upgrading the restaurant\u2019s menu, experimenting with new restaurant layouts, and replacing the chain\u2019s dark Americana d\u00e9cor with a less cluttered, more modern farmhouse aesthetic.<\/p>\n<p>Just four stores were renovated, though, before MAGA\u2019s pressure campaign brought the changes to an abrupt end. <\/p>\n<p>Conservative outrages and calls for a boycott caused the company\u2019s stock to plunge, erasing about $100 million in market value.<\/p>\n<p>Trump chimed in on the controversy on his platform Truth Social, writing, \u201cCracker Barrel should go back to the old logo, admit a mistake based on customer response (the ultimate Poll), and manage the company better than ever before. They got a Billion Dollars worth of free publicity if they play their cards right. Very tricky to do, but a great opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hours later, the company announced on X that, \u201cWe said we would listen, and we have.
