{"id":4335,"date":"2026-07-27T09:12:21","date_gmt":"2026-07-27T09:12:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=4335"},"modified":"2026-07-27T09:12:21","modified_gmt":"2026-07-27T09:12:21","slug":"trump-allies-secretly-urge-republicans-to-break-with-him-as-midterms-loom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=4335","title":{"rendered":"Trump Allies Secretly Urge Republicans to Break With Him as Midterms Loom"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<p>Republican candidates are being advised by Donald Trump\u2019s own allies to break with the president when talking about the Iran war in order to give the GOP a better chance in the midterms.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=4333\">Trump Turns Nemesis Into a Robot in Deranged Slop Video<\/a><\/p>\n<p>During Sunday\u2019s episode of <i>Alex Witt Reports<\/i>, MS NOW White House correspondent Jake Traylor teased an upcoming report revealing that GOP strategists are secretly telling Republican incumbents and challengers to \u201cput some distance and space\u201d between how they talk about the Middle East conflict and how Trump does.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The reported advice came after another damning poll was published on Sunday showing just how deeply unpopular the Iran war is with Americans ahead of November\u2019s crucial midterm elections, where Republicans are desperate to maintain control of the House and Senate.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>A CBS News\/YouGov found that 65 percent disapprove of the Iran war, while 66 percent believe the nearly five-month conflict is going \u201csomewhat\u201d or \u201cvery\u201d badly. More than two-thirds (67 percent) also think the war should end now, while 60 percent believe Trump is trying to make things sound \u201cbetter than they really are\u201d with regard to the conflict.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve consistently seen incredibly negative polling on the president\u2019s handling of the war. The question around all this, especially when they\u2019re talking about American citizens, is how does this impact the midterm election?\u201d Traylor said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy colleague Vaughn [Hillyard] and I have talked to multiple different senior officials, allies close to Trump, people in charge of leading the midterm strategy for Republicans. They\u2019re advising candidates, whether they\u2019re incumbents or challengers, Republican candidates, to essentially not talk about the war the same way President Trump is.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re encouraged to actually put some distance and space between the way Trump talks about the war and the way they do because they\u2019re aware they don\u2019t have a winning strategy when it comes to the midterms,\u201d Traylor added.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=4331\">Super Bowl Champ Dies at 38<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cObviously, we are just 100 days out here. Every bit of messaging on this matters, and the Republicans around Trump know that, and that\u2019s why they\u2019re encouraging others to distance themselves from his language in this moment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump has repeatedly insisted the Iran war is going well, even as it has stretched into a fifth month with no end in sight.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, Axios reported that the U.S. paused strikes on Iran for a third consecutive night after the top U.S. military commander in the Middle East, Adm. Brad Cooper, advised Trump that the bombing campaign around the Strait of Hormuz had reached the limits of its effectiveness.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>The New York Times also reported that there are concerns within the Trump administration that continuing the war will drain the U.S.\u2019s stockpile of air defense munitions to a dangerously low level.<\/p>\n<p>Mike Waltz, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, dismissed those concerns and insisted that the U.S. has \u201ceverything that it needs\u201d for military operations against Iran.<\/p>\n<p>However, during the same interview on NBC News\u2019 <i>Meet the Press<\/i> on Sunday, Waltz also suggested that the Pentagon had \u201cinherited a depleted situation \u2026 and a depleted military\u201d from the Biden administration.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=4329\">8-Time Grammy Winner Abruptly Cancels Shows With No Explanation<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Daily Beast has contacted the White House for comment.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/article>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Republican candidates are being advised by Donald Trump\u2019s own allies to break with the president when talking about the Iran war in order to give the GOP a better chance in the midterms.
