This week he called U.S. servicemembers the \u201cmost elite warriors on the face of the earth.\u201d<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The Pentagon chief has also shared cringeworthy workout videos in which his gym buddy, 72-year-old Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., exercised while wearing jeans.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Hegseth has also enforced grooming and fitness standards for servicemembers, saying last year it was \u201ccompletely unacceptable to see fat generals and admirals in the halls of the Pentagon,\u201d as well as calling out \u201cfat troops.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>His latest manly MAGA mission is make officers over 30 take testosterone screenings to \u201coptimize your performance, your resilience, and your long-term health.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But The Atlantic asked experts to rate Hegseth\u2019s own fitness routines, and they were not impressed with what they saw.<\/p>\n<p>In an article titled \u201cPete Hegseth, You Call That a Pull-Up?,\u201d reporter Tom Bartlett claims that the self-proclaimed \u201cSecretary of War\u201d does push-ups that \u201care more like half-ups.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hegseth and RFK Jr. launched their Pete &amp; Bobby Challenge last year, imploring participants to do 50 pull-ups and 100 push-ups in under 10 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Videos posted by Hegseth attempting the challenge show a \u201csubstandard technique,\u201d according to Bartlett, who noted that in his 2024 book, <i>The War on Warriors<\/i>, Hegseth mocked women soldiers who could only manage to do \u201cten push-ups at a pop\u201d and called a transgender woman a \u201cten-push-up kind of guy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Getting technical about his form, Bartlett says while his pull-up form is \u201cmore or less textbook,\u201d Hegseth lacks consistency and lifts his knees to his chest to provide extra power.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is known as `kipping\u2019 and is forbidden in an eight-page pull-up guide published by the Marines,\u201d Bartlett writes, noting that in one clip, Hegseth uses an underhand grip, which technically makes a pull-up a chin-up, a less challenging exercise.<\/p>\n<p>A video the Pentagon posted last month said Hegseth \u201cCRUSHED 44 reps on the bench after a morning run with the troops yesterday.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=3928\">White House Panics Over Fears Melania Could Go Rogue: Author<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In the video, someone can be heard telling Hegseth, \u201cAll the way down, all the way up!\u201d multiple times before he reaches failure.<\/p>\n<p>The publication also got feedback on the Pete &amp; Bobby Challenge from Maureen LeBoeuf, a retired brigadier general.<\/p>\n<p>The first and only woman to head the physical education department at West Point said nothing Hegseth did in the video would have counted had she been grading him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis pull-ups or chin-ups and the kicking that he does\u2014you would never allow that. You\u2019d stop somebody; you\u2019d say, \u2018OK, you\u2019re done,\u2019\u201d she said. \u201cHe just keeps kicking, and it\u2019s not a good look.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Factoring in possible exhaustion, LeBoeuf pointed out the irony of fatigue and cutting corners from someone who is \u201creal big on standards.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Citing a Marine guide that calls out \u201cpoor quality work\u201d that can lead to injury, Bartlett says \u201cHegseth\u2019s work is, by Marine standards, poor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Atlantic also weighed in on Hegseth\u2019s form swinging a kettlebell, courtesy of retired Marine and kettlebell coach Joel Del Rosario.<\/p>\n<p>Del Rosario called out Hegseth squatting with the kettlebell, and bringing the weight too close to the ground, rather than keeping the bell closer to your body and generating momentum with your legs and hips.<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Beast has contacted the Pentagon for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to Joanna Coles on <i>The Daily Beast Podcast<\/i>this week<i>, I\u2019ve Had It <\/i>host Jennifer Welch claimed Hegseth is \u201claser-focused\u201d on military personnel\u2019s testosterone levels because he is trying to compensate for his own lack of it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think this is the governing of low-T people,\u201d Welch said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople who have high testosterone, number one, probably don\u2019t even know it because they\u2019ve never had to test it,\u201d Welch said.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=3926\">Murdoch Paper Torches Trump\u2019s \u2018Raw Vindictiveness\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/article>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MAGA gym bro Pete Hegseth has been roasted by military fitness experts for the poor form he shows in his online warrior workouts.
