Trump International Airport in Palm Beach.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=3799\">MAGA Stars\u2019 Vance Bets Spark Insider Trading Concerns<\/a><\/p>\n<p>An internal memo was circulated on Thursday among United employees, telling reservation agents that they could offer without charge \u201cacceptable alternatives\u201d to the formerly named Palm Beach International Airport, such as to Fort Lauderdale or Miami, to travelers who wanted to avoid the Trump airport, reported travel blog Live and Let\u2019s Fly.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cIf a customer does not want to fly to the airport, use your empowerment to offer acceptable alternatives such as Fort Lauderdale Airport (FLL) or Miami International Airport (MIA),\u201d the memo read. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>It also offered reservation agents some sample language to use when discussing the issue with a customer: \u201cI understand that you\u2019d rather not fly to this airport anymore. We can look at nearby airports like Fort Lauderdale or Miami instead. Is that an acceptable alternative?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While the airline didn\u2019t deny the message was authentic, a spokesperson insisted to The Hill that it was \u201cpoorly worded\u201d and not actually accurate.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s true \u201cUnited customers are able to make changes to a ticket without a fee for many reasons,\u201d the airline said in a statement. \u201cHowever, our policy doesn\u2019t allow for changes because of an airport\u2019s name or three-letter code.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=3797\">Fox Host Sours on Trump\u2019s Strikes After Troop Deaths Revealed<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The name change became official earlier this month after Florida\u2019s Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis signed legislation in March authorizing it. It\u2019s just miles from Trump\u2019s Mar-a-Lago golf resort. The switch-up is costing $5.5 million, with the state and the airport each footing half the bill. <\/p>\n<p>The airport has added a new notice to its contact forms promising that in the wake of the facility\u2019s name change, \u201cpassengers will continue to receive the same professional, reliable service during the transition.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The three-letter airport identifier will change in mid-August from PBI to Trump\u2019s initials: DJT. <\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Trump critics on social media are furious about the change, but many are also looking forward to airline tickets involving travel from Palm Beach to Sioux City, Iowa.
