Bush, including the 2000 Florida recount, scoffed at Trump\u2019s claims in a 25-minute speech about supposed fraud and foreign interference in the 2020 elections.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cWhat stood out to me is that there\u2019s still no evidence of a result of any election being incorrect,\u201d he told CNN\u2019s <i>The Source with Kaitlan Collins<\/i> on Thursday night. \u201cThere still were not the documents. There still was not the evidence, although we\u2019ll see what\u2019s produced.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Ginsberg, who served as co-chair of the bipartisan Presidential Commission on Election Administration, has been pushing back against Trump\u2019s insistence on voter fraud since 2020. In 2022, he testified before the House Jan. 6 committee that he found no evidence of such fraud in the 2020 presidential election won by Joe Biden.<\/p>\n<p>In his much-hyped speech, Trump declared that \u201cgreat damage has been done to our country\u201d by nefarious foreign actors and that U.S. elections have been \u201cleft vulnerable to being rigged and stolen.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The administration later released a trove of declassified intelligence documents it said back up his claims, but much of the information appears to be old and has so far failed to substantiate many of the president\u2019s more serious claims.<\/p>\n<p>Ginsberg conceded that the U.S. election system is imperfect, noting that it includes over 8,000 jurisdictions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are inconsistencies between those jurisdictions. Elections are notoriously underfunded. And so if you wanna fix the vulnerabilities, there should be a lot of federal money going out to states and localities to actually succeed in doing that,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=3703\">MAGA Has Bizarre Meltdown Over Canadian Wildfire Smoke<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ginsberg also pointed out that Trump\u2019s concerns about China targeting U.S. elections may be a problem of his own making.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter all\u2014and this feels a little bit like an own goal\u2014the administration has cut back on the cybersecurity agencies, CISA (Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency) and the Department of Justice outfit that helps states,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf there is a problem with the 2026 election, it will be in large part because the defenses that are provided by the federal government to the states to stop that activity have been drastically cut back. So that\u2019s something that a bit of leadership would help on,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Ginsberg appeared on CNN along with several other experts to fact-check Trump\u2019s claims shortly after his speech.<\/p>\n<p>CNN\u2019s Zachary Cohen also noted that the documents published by the White House didn\u2019t reveal anything new.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cNone of the declassified information supports the claim that any previous election results\u2014including the 2020 presidential contest that Trump lost\u2014were manipulated by foreign interference or fraud in a way that would\u2019ve changed the outcome,&#8221; Cohen wrote on X.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=3701\">Trump Humiliated by Getting Just a Fraction of Primetime Audience<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Not even a veteran Republican elections attorney was convinced by President Donald Trump\u2019s bonkers speech claiming \u201cshocking vulnerabilities\u201d in the security of U.S. polls.
