It came with the caption: \u201cThe High-T Department of War.\u201d<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Hegseth, who has overseen a macho-macho rebrand of the department as Pentagon chief, is not the only member of the Trump administration fixated on the increasingly popular but widely contested claim that boosting testosterone can enhance fitness and physical health.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., 72, has publicly acknowledged using testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and has repeatedly claimed levels among young men are plummeting. <\/p>\n<p>Kennedy\u2019s Assistant Secretary Brian Christine, 61, a doctor specializing in men\u2019s sexual health who previously hosted a YouTube show called <i>Erection Connection<\/i>, has amplified those claims. Vice President JD Vance, 41, and former FDA Commissioner Marty Makary, AGE, have also spoken about the topic in the past.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis initiative, it\u2019s not about artificial enhancement,\u201d Hegseth said in his Wednesday post. \u201cIt\u2019s about restoring and optimizing your natural capabilities, protecting your longevity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Adriane Fugh-Berman, a Georgetown University professor of pharmacology and physiology, warned in comments to The Washington Post that Hegseth\u2019s claims are \u201cnon-evidence-based and could cause harm.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=3614\">Trump, 80, Unravels in Weird \u2018Magnets\u2019 Rant<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Adrian Dobs, a specialist on TRT and Johns Hopkins University professor of medicine, agreed with that view, adding that levels can vary widely between men. \u201cThe normal testosterone levels can be, usually people would say between 300 and 800 [nanograms per deciliter],\u201d she said. \u201cSo it doesn\u2019t mean that the person who\u2019s 700 is any better or stronger or smarter than the person that\u2019s 300.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fugh-Berman added they can even vary depending on the time of day or on what a person is doing at any given time. \u201cThere\u2019s a wide range of testosterone levels at every age, and they vary hourly, daily, weekly, and seasonally,\u201d she said. \u201cTestosterone levels go up if you hold a gun; they go down if you hold a baby.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Defense Secretary\u2019s video also sparked instant alarm over how exactly it may affect female troops, given what critics have slammed as a push to eliminate women soldiers from combat roles under his leadership. <\/p>\n<p>A former soldier told the Post that Hegseth\u2019s proposal to screen troops for low testosterone wasn\u2019t necessarily a bad idea, \u201cbut likely not something the whole military needs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven within these Special Operations units, you don\u2019t need meatheads all the time,\u201d the person said. \u201cYou need some people who will run through a wall, and some people who can stand back and observe things objectively.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=3613\">Pentagon Pete Goons\u2019 Lethal Blunder Takes Another Dark Turn<\/a><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The Daily Beast has contacted the Pentagon for comment on this story. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Donald Trump\u2019s Defense Secretary wants to test military personnel\u2019s testosterone levels and will offer hormone replacement therapy to servicemembers over 30 whose levels are low.
