{"id":3561,"date":"2026-07-15T16:12:54","date_gmt":"2026-07-15T16:12:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=3561"},"modified":"2026-07-15T16:12:54","modified_gmt":"2026-07-15T16:12:54","slug":"trump-goon-reveals-presidents-petty-power-play","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=3561","title":{"rendered":"Trump Goon Reveals President\u2019s Petty Power Play"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<p>President Donald Trump appears to have a new way of getting what he wants\u2014even when it comes to White House artwork.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=3559\">Trump Hit With Grim Reality Check on Americans\u2019 Pay<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent revealed a bizarre exchange involving a prized painting of Alexander Hamilton that was moved from the Treasury Department after Trump intervened.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>During an interview with Fox News\u2019 Jesse Watters, Bessent was asked whether the president ever requests items from the Treasury Department for the White House.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cDoes the president ever say, \u2018Mr. Bessent, I\u2019d like to take some things from the Treasury Department and bring them to the White House?\u2019\u201d Watters asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, in the Roosevelt Room there is a beautiful painting of Alexander Hamilton that used to be outside my door,\u201d Bessent responded.<\/p>\n<p>When Watters followed up with \u201cUsed to be&#8230;,\u201d Bessent confirmed the artwork was no longer there.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUsed to be\u2026 The president sent over some beautiful gold gilding for my office so wasn\u2019t exactly an even trade but for President Trump it was pretty even,\u201d Bessent said.<\/p>\n<p>Watters noted, \u201cHe usually comes out on top.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bessent then appeared to gush over the president, replying: \u201cNot usually, ALWAYS!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In November 2016, Trump railed against the cast of the Broadway musical, Hamilton, after actor Brandon Victor Dixon, who plays Vice President Aaron Burr, gave then president-elect Mike Pence a lecture after a performance of the hit musical on American values.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=3558\">Trump Unveils Tacky $1 Gold Coin With His Face on It<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Trump, who has often been compared to Burr, a man described as being \u201cone of the most unprincipled men in the United States, then squared off with Dixon on Twitter in the equivalent of a modern-day duel, calling for the actor to apologize.<\/p>\n<p>It is not the first time Trump has helped himself to something from a Cabinet official\u2019s office.<\/p>\n<p>The last incident was just earlier this month, when the 80-year-old president stole a clock from his secretary of state, Marco Rubio.<\/p>\n<p>Trump revealed he had placed the clock in his redesigned Cabinet room.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo as president, you have the power\u2014if I go into the State Department, or Department of Commerce or Treasury\u2014if I see anything that I like, I\u2019m allowed to take it.
