{"id":3428,"date":"2026-07-13T19:42:09","date_gmt":"2026-07-13T19:42:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=3428"},"modified":"2026-07-13T19:42:09","modified_gmt":"2026-07-13T19:42:09","slug":"pentagon-pete-orders-sinister-taskforce-after-embarrassing-leaks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=3428","title":{"rendered":"Pentagon Pete Orders Sinister \u2018Taskforce\u2019 After Embarrassing Leaks"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<p>Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth has unleashed a new task force to hunt down officials who leak sensitive information after a series of embarrassing disclosures rocked the Trump administration.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=3426\">CNN Star Brutally Roasts Pentagon Pete<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In a video announcement posted to X, Hegseth said the Department of Defense and the Department of Justice had created a joint task force to \u201cidentify and prosecute leakers,\u201d warning that anyone caught disclosing sensitive military information will face \u201cthe full force of the law.\u201d <\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cLeaked information risks lives,\u201d he said. \u201cAccess to confidential and secret information is a sacred trust, and those who betray that trust will be met with the full force of the law.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Pentagon will also expand the authority of its Office of General Counsel, allowing it to demand records and assistance from every department component during media leak investigations. Hegseth said all requests must receive \u201ca full and complete response within 48 hours.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe unauthorized disclosure of sensitive war department information has the very real potential to cause exceptionally grave damage to our national security and the operational integrity of our armed forces,\u201d Hegseth said. \u201cTo leak sensitive national defense information and secrets betrays the men and women who wear our nation\u2019s uniform.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While Hegseth did not say what had prompted the creation of the taskforce, the announcement follows a series of leaks from the Pentagon, which have seemingly left Hegseth raging.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, a defense official and emails shared with CNN revealed that Hegseth was left fuming after he boarded a Navy ship in June for what was supposed to be a routine visit, only to discover that multiple sailors were ignoring his demand that all service members be clean-shaven.<\/p>\n<p>After learning that many rank-and-file troops had ignored his directive discouraging beards, the macho image-obsessed Hegseth reportedly ordered Pentagon officials to convene a series of meetings reminding military personnel of his grooming standards and other workplace expectations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWant to bring to your attention that the SecWar is paying close attention to the progress of the EEO [Equal Employment Opportunity] reforms,\u201d a Pentagon official emailed colleagues in June. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn fact, the push is to move faster\u2026 there is a need to revamp some of our timelines.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Hegseth\u2019s clampdown on beards in the military has been central to the former <i>Fox &amp; Friends Weekend<\/i> host\u2019s campaign against what he sees as the \u201cwoke\u201d decay of the armed forces. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t have a military full of Nordic pagans,\u201d Hegseth said during a September 2025 speech to several hundred officers at Marine Corps Base Quantico. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=3424\">Vatican Blows Up Trump Goon\u2019s Pope Leo Claim<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo more beards, long hair, superficial individual expression,\u201d he added. \u201cWe\u2019re going to cut our hair, shave our beards, and adhere to standards.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, data leaked to The Washington Post in May revealed that U.S. forces were expending more resources defending Israel from missile strikes than Israeli forces themselves.<\/p>\n<p>A separate leak in May also challenged Trump\u2019s victory lap over Iran. Reuters reported that U.S. intelligence still assessed Tehran was up to a year away from producing a nuclear weapon\u2014the same estimate as before last June\u2019s strikes, despite Trump\u2019s repeated claims the attacks had \u201cobliterated\u201d Iran\u2019s nuclear ambitions.<\/p>\n<p>When asked why intelligence assessments reportedly showed Iran\u2019s nuclear timeline had not changed despite the U.S. bombing campaign, Hegseth sidestepped the question. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t discuss the specifics about intel, and anybody that does shouldn\u2019t be,\u201d he said, adding, \u201cI can\u2019t confirm or deny whether that is, indeed, correct.\u201d He then dismissed the report altogether, accusing the journalist of relying on \u201cspeculation,\u201d saying: \u201cSpeculation as far as I\u2019m concerned, coming from you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Trump administration has often been plagued by leaks.
