{"id":3337,"date":"2026-07-12T05:12:40","date_gmt":"2026-07-12T05:12:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=3337"},"modified":"2026-07-12T05:12:40","modified_gmt":"2026-07-12T05:12:40","slug":"doj-accidentally-owns-itself-with-epstein-files-blunder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=3337","title":{"rendered":"DOJ Accidentally Owns Itself With Epstein Files Blunder"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<p>An embarrassing social media blunder briefly made it appear as if the Justice Department was admitting to impeding the only active criminal investigation into Jeffrey Epstein.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=3335\">Trump Goons Ordered Keystone Kash to Launch Sinister Hunt<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The apparent self-own came after journalist and lawyer Aaron Parnas posted on X that \u201cThe Trump Administration is impeding the only active criminal investigation into Jeffrey Epstein.\u201d <\/p>\n<div>\n<p>DOJ Rapid Response replied with two words: \u201cWe are.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The response immediately appeared to validate the accusation before linking to a \u201cfact check\u201d claiming accusations about a lack of DOJ cooperation on the Epstein files were \u201cdemonstrably false.\u201d The apparent typo quickly drew ridicule online.<\/p>\n<p>The exchange stemmed from allegations by New Mexico Attorney General Ra\u00fal Torrez, who has accused the Justice Department of withholding unredacted files related to Epstein\u2019s Zorro Ranch near Santa Fe, where sex-trafficked women and girls are believed to have been housed and assaulted.<\/p>\n<p>Critics weren\u2019t buying the DOJ\u2019s explanation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf your \u2018we are\u2019 means you\u2019re talking about it, it\u2019s been 5 months since the N.M. attorney general requested the files and they\u2019ve received no cooperation or files,\u201d noted X user Candid Candor. \u201cIf you\u2019re replying to the \u2018the Trump admin is impeding\u2019 remark, well&#8230; either way&#8230; you\u2019ve admitted to impeding the investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Torrez accused the Justice Department of withholding access to unredacted files vital to cases against sex offenders involved in Epstein\u2019s trafficking.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery day that the USDOJ withholds these records, the foundation upon which a New Mexico prosecution could be built erodes,\u201d Torrez wrote in a  to Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, who was previously President Donald Trump\u2019s personal attorney. The letter was publicly released on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWitnesses relocate and become unreachable. Memories, already strained by years of trauma, fade further. Though it compelled the DOJ to publish all unclassified records, investigative materials, communications, and flight logs related to the prosecution of Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell, the Trump administration has yet to fully comply.<\/p>\n<p>A Justice Department spokesperson insisted to CNN that the agency \u201csubstantively\u201d responded to demands from New Mexico last month.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe DOJ reiterates that it welcomes New Mexico undertaking additional investigation of the Zorro Ranch and stands ready to provide necessary assistance with New Mexico\u2019s investigation,\u201d the spokesperson added.<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Beast has reached out to the Department of Justice for comment.<\/p>\n<p>New Mexico reopened an investigation into Zorro Ranch earlier this year after some newly released Epstein documents revealed an email alleging that \u201csomewhere in the hills outside the Zorro, two foreign girls were buried on orders of Jeffrey and Madam G,\u201d presumably referring to Epstein and Maxwell.
