What becomes clear as a result, she said, is Trump\u2019s authoritarian tendencies have become more apparent.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Appearing on <i>The Daily Beast Podcast<\/i>, Welch referenced how Trump blurted out a few months ago that he preferred the company of \u201closers.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cI always like to hang around with losers, actually, because it makes me feel better,\u201d Trump said at a Miami investor forum. \u201cI hate guys that are very, very successful, and you have to listen to their success stories. I like people that like to listen to my success.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump, who also said he doesn\u2019t care about the midterms or Americans\u2019 financial situations while attempting to manage the war with Iran, \u201cis entering his deathbed confession era,\u201c Welch told host Joanna Coles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s starting to say all of the quiet parts out loud. He\u2019s saying, I love hanging out with losers. He likes to be the big d&#8212; in charge,\u201d she said. \u201cHe wants everybody to kiss his a&#8211;, and they don\u2019t feel second-hand embarrassment or the cringiness of all of that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The reason, she explained, is that those close to the president make up \u201cthe largest collection of broken people in our lifetime.\u201d <\/p>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019ve never seen a group of such broken people before. This is like if you went to a rehab facility with a triple diagnosis of a personality disorder, meth addiction, inner childhood trauma, all of that,\u201d Welch said. \u201cIt\u2019s flagrant incompetence on full display, and I think Trump loves it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=295\">Trump, 79, Issues Dire Threat After Kennedy Center Humiliation<\/a><\/p>\n<p>As an example, Welch pointed to Secretary of State Marco Rubio.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRuth Ben-Ghiat\u2014she is a professor at NYU, a scholar on autocrats\u2014and she says this is a feature of dictators, of autocrats: they pick people that are easy to break. They pick people intentionally that are obsequious,\u201d Welch said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLook at Marco Rubio and the humiliation ritual that they do with him,\u201d she said, referring to him dressing up like ousted Venezuelan President Nicol\u00e1s Maduro on Air Force One and also wearing oversized shoes that Trump gifted him.<\/p>\n<p>Former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem\u2019s controversial history with animals also made her a prime candidate for a Cabinet position under Trump.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese people are very easy to break, like Kristi Noem\u2014the fact that she had murdered her dog. And nobody ever talks about the goat,\u201c Welch said. \u201dShe also shot a goat. That is a sign for Trump that, \u2018Oh, she\u2019s perfect for me.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When reached for comment, White House spokesperson Davis Ingle provided the following statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnything said on the Daily Beast podcast is equivalent to screaming into the void.
