{"id":2936,"date":"2026-07-06T12:40:16","date_gmt":"2026-07-06T12:40:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=2936"},"modified":"2026-07-06T12:40:16","modified_gmt":"2026-07-06T12:40:16","slug":"world-leaders-private-joke-to-trump-about-melania-revealed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=2936","title":{"rendered":"World Leader\u2019s Private Joke to Trump About Melania Revealed"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<p>Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jan\u0161a tried to ease tensions between Donald Trump and members of NATO by making a joke about Melania Trump, according to a report.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=2934\">Trump\u2019s Deranged \u2018Lewinsky Room\u2019 Offer to World Leader Revealed<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Jan\u0161a was among several leaders in the military alliance who were desperately trying to flatter the president last year in an effort to convince the 80-year-old not to withdraw the U.S. from NATO, The Wall Street Journal reported.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>NATO members even held meetings to discuss whether the alliance could survive without the U.S. The crunch talks were sparked by Trump\u2019s threats to leave amid his sweeping retaliatory tariffs and his threats to invade Greenland, an autonomous territory of NATO member Denmark.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>As part of Jan\u0161a\u2019s efforts to keep Trump happy and maintain the U.S.\u2019s place in NATO, the Slovenian prime minister made a light-hearted joke about the first lady at a NATO summit in The Hague, Netherlands, in June 2025.<\/p>\n<p>At the summit, all NATO members except Spain agreed to commit to spending 5 percent of GDP on defense and security by 2035\u2014a figure long demanded by Trump.<\/p>\n<p>During his attempt to \u201clighten the mood\u201d at the summit, Jan\u0161a congratulated Trump on convincing the European country to raise its defense spending, saying that \u201cif anybody knew how stubborn Slovenians could be, it was the husband of Melania Trump,\u201d the Journal reported.<\/p>\n<p>Trump is said to have smiled at the joke, with Bulgaria\u2019s then-prime minister, Rosen Zhelyazkov, condemning the entire fa\u00e7ade surrounding Trump.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was laughter in the room, but it masked deep anxiety,\u201d Zhelyazkov told the Journal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEuropean leaders still clung to the belief that they could manage Donald Trump through diplomatic flattery and personal charm.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other world leaders also took turns praising Trump during behind-closed-doors sessions at the NATO summit in an effort to keep the president happy.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=2933\">Wild Details of Allies\u2019 Secret Summit to Deal With Trump Nightmare Exposed<\/a><\/p>\n<p>NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte also tried to flatter Trump by \u201cbombarding\u201d him with public support and praise, the Journal reported. Rutte even copied Trump\u2019s writing style in messages to him, complete with short, sharp sentences.<\/p>\n<p>Sources told the Journal that Rutte became so immersed in his attempts to flatter Trump that some world leaders described him as behaving like an \u201cactor who never broke character.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, Finland\u2019s president, Alexander Stubb, and Norway\u2019s prime minister, Jonas Gahr St\u00f8re, reportedly workshopped text messages to Trump, debating which words they should randomly capitalize to mimic his social media posting style.<\/p>\n<p>For years, Trump has threatened to pull the U.S. out of NATO, complaining that other countries do not meet minimum defense spending targets and demanding they increase military spending from 2 percent to 5 percent of GDP.<\/p>\n<p>Trump also intensified those threats after complaining that almost all NATO countries did not want to help the U.S. in its deeply unpopular war with Iran.<\/p>\n<p>The tensions surrounding Trump are expected to loom large when NATO leaders gather in Ankara, Turkey, for a summit on Tuesday and Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPresident Trump has effectively restored America\u2019s standing on the world stage, and he has done more for NATO than anyone else,\u201d White House spokesperson Anna Kelly told the Journal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe also believes that some NATO members should do much more to fulfill their obligations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=2932\">Voters Hit Trump Hit With Humiliating Verdict on His War<\/a><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The Daily Beast has contacted the White House for comment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jan\u0161a tried to ease tensions between Donald Trump and members of NATO by making a joke about Melania Trump, according to a report.
