{"id":291,"date":"2026-05-29T23:16:54","date_gmt":"2026-05-29T23:16:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=291"},"modified":"2026-05-29T23:16:54","modified_gmt":"2026-05-29T23:16:54","slug":"hardcore-maga-couple-reveal-breaking-point-with-trump","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=291","title":{"rendered":"Hardcore MAGA Couple Reveal Breaking Point With Trump"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<p>A Georgia couple is abandoning MAGA after saying they were personally affected by President Donald Trump\u2019s policies. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=289\">Pentagon Pete Drags His Wife Into PT Stunt With Marines<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Longtime Republicans Ron and Chrissey Kelley, both of whom were loyal Trump voters, told Raw Story that they have turned on the Trump administration after its policies came for their jobs.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Ron, a 55-year-old construction analyst for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) told the outlet he was furloughed amid the administration\u2019s haphazard Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) cuts. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cWe voted for Trump, not realizing that he was going to slam as hard as he did, but it was on day one when he sat down, right after inauguration, and started signing those executive orders and just trashed us federal employees, it was a kick in the teeth,\u201d Ron said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat point was the beginning of my turning away from MAGA,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Ron said he started to regret his vote when Republican policies began to \u201cdestroy my life, which affects my family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Months later, he says the impacts of the administration\u2019s failed DOGE mission, led by the world\u2019s richest man, Elon Musk, are still a \u201cheadache.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey brought DOGE in and created a whole new layer of bureaucracy that we\u2019re still suffering from,\u201d Ron said. \u201cThey\u2019ve created so much headache and so much overhead.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ron noted that he was very embedded in the MAGA movement\u2014enough to believe Trump\u2019s repeated lie that the 2020 election was rigged.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI bought into the lie about the stolen election and all that, and I thought January 6 insurrectionists were actually patriots,\u201d Ron said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just remember being content with thinking that he was what we needed, and he was going to drain the swamp in Washington until he got into office this third [election], and realizing that I was dumb as a rock, and I believed everything that I was spoon-fed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=287\">Trump\u2019s War on Cocaine Exposed as Blowing Up In His Face<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Chrissey, for her part, said she was a lifelong Republican\u2014until now. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou were just a conservative. There was no thought behind it. You listen to Fox News, and you listen to conservative outlets, and you\u2019re spoon-fed,\u201d Chrissey said.<\/p>\n<p>She recalled thinking, when Trump first came onto the scene: \u201cHe\u2019s gonna fix everything. He\u2019s a businessman. He\u2019s gonna help us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But now, Chrissey said the administration\u2019s botched handling of the Epstein files, as well as its deadly immigration tactics, have turned her away.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust watching the policies of what\u2019s happening in our world today unfold one by one by one, I just started drawing up very different conclusions and found out that I was clueless, and most people are today, but now I\u2019m awake and looking at it for what it is, and I cannot believe that he had my support,\u201d Chrissey said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s lie after lie after lie,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>Their decision has come with personal consequences, though, as the couple said leaving MAGA has caused a rift with their friends, who are still fully committed to Trump.<\/p>\n<p>Ron said he now votes Democrat, while Chrissey considers herself an Independent. <\/p>\n<p>Ron added that he thinks that while there are people in \u201cdeep, deep red MAGA that you\u2019re never going to convince that Trump is not who they think he is,\u201d he believes many are slowly coming out of their MAGA haze. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe that the more that we share, the more of the fringe MAGA are dropping off,\u201d Ron said.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cAs you see in the polls that they keep taking, that Trump is dropping lower and lower and lower almost daily,\u201d he said. \u201cSo the only way that that could happen is that his base is leaving him, which means that MAGA is moving.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=285\">Trump\u2019s Deadly Virus Plan Suffers Major Setback<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Georgia couple is abandoning MAGA after saying they were personally affected by President Donald Trump\u2019s policies.
