And a communist will never say that. That\u2019s for sure,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Neither does the founding document of the United States. <\/p>\n<p>It does say \u201call men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The gaffe circulated on social media after the speech, which was delayed due to weather issues. Trump did not take to the stage until after 11 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>It was not clear if the remarks were pre-written or if Trump improvised them himself. The Daily Beast reached out to the White House for comment but did not immediately receive a response. <\/p>\n<p>Online, critics of all stripes laid into the president for his misstep. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cNothing says \u2018I love America\u2019 like misquoting the Declaration of Independence on live TV and then pretending the fake quote proves everyone else hates the country,\u201d wrote influencer Khary Penebaker.<\/p>\n<p>Alex Nowrasteh, senior vice president for policy at right-wing think tank the Cato Institute mocked the mistake on X: \u201c\u2018Trump may have misquoted the Declaration but that\u2019s ok because the Declaration should have said that.\u2019 -NatCons, probably,\u201d he wrote, reposting the gaffe. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=2875\">Trump Humiliated by Empty Seats at Speech<\/a><\/p>\n<p>He also reposted a comment pointing out a potential double standard from MAGA Trump supporters. \u201cImagine if Zohran Mamdani had misquoted the Declaration of Independence in his 4th of July speech. We\u2019d get a hundred threads about how this proves yet again that immigrants aren\u2019t real Americans and shouldn\u2019t be elected to public office,\u201d the post said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt will go down in history that the person who was president on our 250th anniversary lied about what is in the document that the anniversary is about,\u201d another X user pointed out. <\/p>\n<p>Earlier in the speech, Trump called the Constitution \u201cthe most righteous political document ever conceived.\u201d He then listed some of the rights defined in it. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnlike so many others in the world, in this country we have freedom of speech, freedom of religion, equal justice under the law,\u201d he listed, before pausing to add a caveat. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlthough I wasn\u2019t treated that well, but we won\u2019t get into that,\u201d he added seemingly unable to resist complaining about his personal legal problems.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmerica in 2026: its president misquotes the Declaration of Independence,\u201d Matthew Boedy, a professor of rhetoric at the University of North Georgia, wrote in response to the speech. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=2873\">MAGA Rages as Trump\u2019s Fireworks Fiasco Descends Into Chaos<\/a><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cOpen the civics centers.
