{"id":2745,"date":"2026-07-03T05:10:38","date_gmt":"2026-07-03T05:10:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=2745"},"modified":"2026-07-03T05:10:38","modified_gmt":"2026-07-03T05:10:38","slug":"trump-gives-bonkers-response-when-asked-about-bombshell-1b-payday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=2745","title":{"rendered":"Trump Gives Bonkers Response When Asked About Bombshell $1B Payday"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<p>Donald Trump has issued a bizarre response when questioned on his $1 billion crypto payday since becoming president again.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=2743\">Trump\u2019s Niece Exposes Real \u2018Problem\u2019 Behind Shock Disclosure<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s annual financial disclosure was released on Tuesday by the U.S. Office of Government Ethics, his first time reporting since his second term as president.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The figures included over $1 billion from his family\u2019s crypto side hustles, including making $635 million from $TRUMP meme coins and $500 million from World Liberty Financial, the crypto venture the 80-year-old founded with his sons Donald Jr. and Eric that sells products including \u201cgovernance tokens.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Trump took part in a softball interview with CNBC\u2019s Joe Kernen on Thursday, who asked him about his latest presidential payday and mentioned how long they had known each other.<\/p>\n<p>Kernen pointed out that the 10-figure sum Trump made in crypto was \u201coutsized,\u201d and asked whether he knew about the ventures his sons were making.<\/p>\n<p>After shaking his head, Trump then said, \u201cBy the way, I could know about it. I didn\u2019t. I mean, there\u2019s nothing illegal. There\u2019s nothing wrong with it. I could know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At that point, Kernen cited Title 18, Section 208 of the U.S. Code, which prohibits executive branch officials from taking part in government matters that directly affect their own financial interests, or those of their family or close associates.<\/p>\n<p>Trump then laughed, and said, \u201cYou know, I didn\u2019t even know that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The president then said \u201cI feel badly\u201d for his sons, due to their father being president. <\/p>\n<p>He then stated, \u201cThe presidency is so powerful, so big&#8230; If they buy a cupcake company, the energy to make the cupcakes is, sort of like, `How\u2019s my energy policy?\u2019 So therefore you have a conflict&#8230; If they buy an energy efficient truck, they have inside information. So it\u2019s pretty tough in that sense. I tell my kids, stay away from as much as you can stay away from. But they also have a life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Seated in the Oval Office, Kernen began a question on criticism of his income by applying industrial-strength flattery.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=2741\">Doctor Issues Grim Warning About Mitch McConnell\u2019s Recovery<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou entered [the presidency] as billionaire businessman, which was precedented,\u201d Kernen gushed. \u201cI think George Washington owned a lot of land&#8230; JFK had a trust fund, but no one\u2019s been as wealthy as you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After more compliments on his business experience, Kernen claimed, \u201cI think we shouldn\u2019t be surprised that your businesses are doing well, but how would you counter critics that say you\u2019re using the presidency to enrich yourself and your family?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump deflected a direct answer by discussing the latest stock market results before Kernen asked, \u201cDo you worry that if the Democrats were to win the House, that there\u2019s going to be endless investigations of you and your administration?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The president then claimed he doesn\u2019t have \u201canything to do\u201d with his business.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy kids run it,\u201d Trump said. \u201cI had a lot of money, and I have a lot of money. And I\u2019ve always made money. I\u2019m a business person. I\u2019m a really good business person. I\u2019ve made money. I\u2019ve made a tremendous amount of money, more than I would have ever thought I would have made. And I let people invest it. I don\u2019t even speak to.. I don\u2019t even know who they are&#8230;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump said his Eric \u201chandles\u201d his investments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t talk to him about things such as this,\u201d the president said. \u201cI think I\u2019d be allowed to, I\u2019m not sure even what the status is, but I don\u2019t. And he gives it into these like semi-blind trusts or blind trusts where people invest. \u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Beast has contacted the White House for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week, Trump also addressed claims he was profiting off the presidency, stating \u201cYou know why I\u2019m profiting? Because the stock market\u2019s going up. Everybody\u2019s profiting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on CNN\u2019s <i>OutFront<\/i> on Thursday, Democratic Strategist Doug Heye said he did not believe Trump claiming to have no knowledge of his massive crypto earnings.<\/p>\n<p>However, Heye said he does not believe the issue impact on voters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe numbers, yes, of course they\u2019re eye-popping,\u201d Heye said. \u201cI just don\u2018t think they resonate with voters unless Democrats are able to use it to say, Donald Trump is trying to do x, y, and z to enrich himself, you\u2018re spending more on x, y, and z at the grocery store, at restaurants, healthcare, energy.\u201d<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>He continued, \u201cIf they can make that case, then it\u2018s a political issue.
