{"id":2581,"date":"2026-06-30T21:43:46","date_gmt":"2026-06-30T21:43:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=2581"},"modified":"2026-06-30T21:43:46","modified_gmt":"2026-06-30T21:43:46","slug":"sheriff-rejected-search-and-rescue-team-in-nancy-guthrie-hunt-group-claims","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=2581","title":{"rendered":"Sheriff Rejected Search-and-Rescue Team in Nancy Guthrie Hunt, Group Claims"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<p>Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos refused help from search and rescue teams in the early days following Nancy Guthrie\u2019s disappearance, according to a volunteer group. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=2580\">Trump\u2019s Own Justices Humiliate Him in Citizenship Ruling<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The United Cajun Navy, an organization that frequently partners with law enforcement for disaster response and search and rescue, offered several times to help with the Guthrie search but was denied, according to their vice president, Brian Trascher, in a Monday interview with NewsNation. <\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Trascher claimed this was due to a \u201cblanket declaration from the sheriff\u2019s office\u201d not to accept outside help. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cWe really felt strongly that there was a good chance that she could have ended up somewhere along the border,\u201d Trascher said, hoping their help could bring \u201csome closure\u201d to the 84-year-old\u2019s ailing family members.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the group sent a detailed plan to Nanos outlining the resources they could provide, including K-9 and drone teams to offer an \u201cextra set of eyes, ears, hands, and feet.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re very good at search and rescue. We have a lot of good resources we could have brought to the area, other partner groups that we work with in the area are willing to come to the area and help us search.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At this point, Trascher believes their resources would be far less helpful this late in the investigation.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=2578\">I Know the Dangers JD Vance Just Exposed About This MAGA Moment<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think early on when we were closer to the abduction date, it would have been a lot more beneficial,\u201d Trascher said, adding that now he believes they would \u201cjust be looking for remains.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time Nanos has faced criticism for refusing help. <\/p>\n<p>FBI Director Kash Patel claimed earlier this year that the agency was not allowed to investigate the crime scene until four days after <i>Today s<\/i>how host Savannah Guthrie\u2019s mother was reported missing, even though agents were on the ground immediately. <\/p>\n<p>Patel also claimed that Nanos didn\u2019t take up the FBI on their offer to analyze DNA found at the crime scene. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe offered our assistance to go test the DNA. And it\u2019s up to them.
