{"id":2510,"date":"2026-06-29T22:41:57","date_gmt":"2026-06-29T22:41:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=2510"},"modified":"2026-06-29T22:41:57","modified_gmt":"2026-06-29T22:41:57","slug":"liberal-justice-makes-dire-prediction-about-trump-ruling","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=2510","title":{"rendered":"Liberal Justice Makes Dire Prediction about Trump Ruling"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<p>The three liberal-leaning justices on the Supreme Court are sounding the alarm about the latest ruling from the high court that vastly expanded executive power. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=2508\">Fox News Humiliates Trump Goons With Empty Fair<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The high court in a 5-4 ruling Monday blocked Trump\u2019s attempt to fire Federal Reserve board member Lisa Cook, deciding that \u201cCongress, not the courts,\u201d must change federal law on removing members of independent agencies, as the ruling said Fed governors are explicitly protected by \u201cfor cause\u201d statutes.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>But justices handed Trump an expansion of presidential authority as, in a 6-3 ruling, it said that he could fire members of independent regulatory agencies at will, overturning a 91-year-old precedent. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Justice Sonia Sotomayor read the liberals\u2019 dissent at the Supreme Court as the ruling came down Monday, a rare move reserved for extreme disagreements. <\/p>\n<p>Reading aloud from the dissent, she said, \u201cThe one thing that does appear to be clear going forward is that chaos will follow.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the liberals\u2019 dissent, Sotomayor, along with Kagan and Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, wrote that the court had in recent years \u201creinvigorated a maximalist view of Presidential power.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=2506\">Flight Narrowly Misses Drone at Major U.S. Airport<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor more than a century, the nation has firmly rejected the majority\u2019s view and has recognized that Congress, not this court, has primary say over whether multi-member commissions like the F.T.C. should have some insulation from direct presidential control,\u201d Sotomayor  in a scathing 43-page dissent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSeldom, if ever, has this court worked such a profound bait and switch on a coequal branch,\u201d she wrote. \u201cFor more than 90 years, Congress believed, with this court\u2019s express approval, that it was allowed to create a workable government, including by granting certain agencies tasked with certain responsibilities some independence from presidential control.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While Sotomayor hailed the language that carved out the Federal Reserve, she questioned whether that move was truly done in principle.<\/p>\n<p>She wrote, \u201cthe majority replaces 90 years of proven, workable practice with a half-baked theory of executive power that is simultaneously all encompassing yet also subject to necessary but undefined exceptions.\u201d<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cThe result is a President who emerges with far greater power than ever before.
