The former Superman actor, who joined ICE last year, posted photos from atop the fair\u2019s Ferris wheel on the National Mall, praising the view and the event.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cI don\u2019t like heights, but the view from atop the Ferris Wheel at the Great American State Fair is awesome!!!\u201d Cain wrote on X.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In another post, he shared a wide shot from above the fairgrounds toward the Washington Monument.<\/p>\n

But the aerial view was not exactly the packed patriotic spectacle organizers might have hoped for.<\/p>\n

Instead, the image revealed long strips of mostly open grass between the event\u2019s white pavilions, with clusters of visitors scattered across the lawn rather than the large crowds expected at a \u201cworld-class\u201d celebration of America\u2019s 250th birthday.<\/p>\n

When one X user replied, \u201cWas it well attended?\u201d Cain simply answered, \u201cYep.\u201d<\/p>\n

But the photo seemed to say considerably more than his monosyllabic reply.<\/p>\n

The posts came as the White House-backed fair has already been dogged by reports of sparse crowds, power problems, melting ice cream, and empty booths for several states and territories that declined to participate.<\/p>\n

Cain later appeared on Fox News from the fairgrounds, where he blamed Democratic governors for refusing to celebrate the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s just a, \u2018I hate Trump, and I won\u2019t do anything that celebrates this current administration,\u2019\u201d Cain said. \u201cAnd it\u2019s embarrassing.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 59-year-old actor dismissed claims that states stayed away because of the cost of staffing the 16-day event, calling that explanation \u201cbaloney.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShame on those governors,\u201d Cain said. \u201cThey have the money. They\u2019re lying.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cain also insisted the event was buzzing.<\/p>\n

\u201cLook at all the people out here,\u201d Cain said. \u201cI just saw a bunch of Navy guys walk through. It\u2019s incredible to be here.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Great American State Fair, organized by Freedom 250 for the semiquincentennial, has been advertised as a \u201cworld-class exposition and modern-day World\u2019s Fair.\u201d<\/p>\n

It features state pavilions, executive-branch displays, a Ferris wheel, a rodeo, Trump-branded flourishes, replica Trump passports, an Abraham Lincoln hologram, and a model of the president\u2019s proposed triumphal arch.<\/p>\n

But Cain\u2019s Ferris wheel view offered a less triumphant image: a sweeping look at a Trump-backed mega-fair still waiting for mega-crowds.<\/p>\n

Representatives for Dean Cain did not immediately respond to The Daily Beast\u2019s request for comment.<\/p>\n
