{"id":2357,"date":"2026-06-27T13:39:49","date_gmt":"2026-06-27T13:39:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=2357"},"modified":"2026-06-27T13:39:49","modified_gmt":"2026-06-27T13:39:49","slug":"rapist-who-faked-his-own-death-to-flee-the-u-s-dies-in-jail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=2357","title":{"rendered":"Rapist Who Faked His Own Death to Flee the U.S. Dies in Jail"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<p>The extraordinary saga of Nicholas Rossi, convicted rapist, conman and international fugitive, has ended with him dying in jail in Utah. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=2355\">New Bombshell Email Revealed in Nancy Guthrie Case<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Utah Department of Corrections issued a statement on Friday that confirmed Rossi, born Nicholas Alahverdian, was dead. <\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cRossi died from complications of an existing medical condition after choosing to discontinue medical treatment,\u201d the statement said. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Rossi, who was 38, was pronounced dead at a local hospital at 8:32 p.m. on Thursday night, the department of corrections said. <\/p>\n<p>The statement said Rossi\u2019s family and his victims were notified of his death before the public announcement.<\/p>\n<p>Rossi was serving 10 years to life for two counts of first degree felony rape after finally being brought to justice last year. <\/p>\n<p>In February 2020, facing investigations into his crimes, Rossi faked his own death, fled to Europe, and assumed a new identity.<\/p>\n<p>He wrote his own obituary and began life on the lam. But his true identity was revealed when he was admitted to hospital with COVID, and hospital staff recognized him from Interpol wanted posters. <\/p>\n<p>Using DNA, fingerprints and an analysis of his tattoos, a judge ruled he was Nicholas Rossi and ordered him to face an extradition hearing. <\/p>\n<p>His DNA and fingerprints were on file because of a previous conviction in Ohio for public indecency and sexual imposition. Although he did not receive jail time in that case, he was placed on the sex offender registry. <\/p>\n<p>Victims of his crimes span decades, and many U.S. states.
