{"id":229,"date":"2026-05-29T06:15:00","date_gmt":"2026-05-29T06:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=229"},"modified":"2026-05-29T06:15:00","modified_gmt":"2026-05-29T06:15:00","slug":"u-s-ally-sounds-alarm-on-jet-fuel-crisis-as-trumps-war-rages","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=229","title":{"rendered":"U.S. Ally Sounds Alarm on Jet Fuel Crisis as Trump\u2019s War Rages"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<p>Airlines are set to feel the sting from President Donald Trump\u2019s war with Iran if the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz continues, the European Union has warned.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=227\">How I Know Trump Is at His Most Dangerous: Biographer<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The European Commission said Thursday that while fuel markets have so far absorbed the effects of the war through higher prices rather than supply shortages, this could soon change. <\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Oil prices have surged since Trump, 79, launched his war on Iran more than three months ago due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a narrow shipping lane through which one-fifth of the world\u2019s oil flows in peacetime. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>After its latest meetings with its oil and gas co-ordination groups, the European Commission\u2019s energy department said that \u201cthe closure \u200bof the Strait of \u200bHormuz impacts both crude oil and all \u200cmajor \u2060petroleum products, and that all EU countries are affected by the dynamics.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo far, the EU \u200bhas been \u200bexperiencing \u2060price effects, with no physical supply disruptions at \u200bconsumer level,\u201d it said in a news release. <\/p>\n<p>It continued, \u201cHowever, if the situation does not improve in the next weeks, markets are expected to become increasingly tighter, especially for jet fuel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>A prolonged squeeze on jet fuel supplies threatens to drive up costs for European airlines while putting additional strain on airport fuel distribution systems. <\/p>\n<p>A squeezed jet fuel market would increase stress on airlines and airport supply chains, according to Traders Union. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=225\">CNN Panelist Highlights Horror Flaw in Trump\u2019s 250 Cash Note<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Jet fuel in northern Europe soared to an all-time high of $1,904 per tonne in early April, over twice its prewar price, and was still trading near $1,328 per tonne last week, the Financial Times reports, citing Argus Media. <\/p>\n<p>Still, for now, oil refiners say Europe is likely to avoid outright jet fuel shortages this summer, though the peak travel season is expected to serve as a major \u201cstress test\u201d for the sector, according to the Financial Times. <\/p>\n<p>Beyond the summer, however, the market\u2019s outlook hinges on the ongoing negotiations between Trump and the Iranian regime.<\/p>\n<p>Senior officials on both sides told The Washington Post on Thursday that they have reached a tentative agreement to end the war and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. <\/p>\n<p>However, they said that Trump and his counterparts in Tehran are still reviewing it.
