{"id":213,"date":"2026-05-28T22:15:05","date_gmt":"2026-05-28T22:15:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=213"},"modified":"2026-05-28T22:15:05","modified_gmt":"2026-05-28T22:15:05","slug":"ice-barbie-successor-causing-chaos-at-airport-nearest-world-cup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=213","title":{"rendered":"ICE Barbie Successor Causing Chaos at Airport Nearest World Cup"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<p>Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin is threatening to throw a major airport\u2019s international flights into pandemonium ahead of the FIFA World Cup.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=211\">Trump Goon Demands to Be Known by Honorary Title<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mullin, who was confirmed as Kristi Noem\u2019s replacement in March, said the department needs to \u201cprioritize federal police officers\u201d and potentially reshuffle some agents in response to protests at the Delaney Hall ICE detention center in Newark, New Jersey, which have gone on for a week.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The former Oklahoma senator appeared on <i>Fox &amp; Friends<\/i> Thursday morning and said that might mean pulling Customs and Border Protection agents from Newark Liberty International Airport to help quell the protests outside the nearby facility.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cThat may affect international flights coming in and out of&#8230; their airport because I\u2019m going to have to pull Customs and Border Protection officers out of being able to process international flights and put them helping our ICE agents,\u201d Mullin, 48, told host Brian Kilmeade.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd, by the way, if you can\u2019t process international flights because customs is closed, you can\u2019t, uh, obviously, process international flights coming in from out of the country,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The FIFA World Cup, the world\u2019s biggest sporting event, kicks off next month in the U.S. The tournament\u2019s final match will be played on July 19th at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey\u2014just a 15-minute drive from Newark International.<\/p>\n<p>The 82,500-seat stadium will likely be filled to the brim for the match by wealthy soccer fans from all around the world.<\/p>\n<p>Protests outside the Delaney Hall detention center kicked off on Friday in response to reports of unsanitary living conditions and a hunger strike among the center\u2019s 300 detainees, according to ABC News. Activists alleged that the center has fed detainees \u201crotten frozen food\u201d and have denied them toilet paper.<\/p>\n<p>DHS has denied the allegations, with Mullin himself saying during a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday that there were \u201conly a handful of individuals that was refusing to eat\u201d because they allegedly wanted their \u2018ethnic right food.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mullin had said earlier this week that he was \u201cdrawing up plans\u201d to end the processing of international flights in sanctuary cities, but doubled back when asked if that meant he would be cancelling all international flights to cities like New York, Los Angeles, or Chicago.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=209\">Karoline Leavitt\u2019s Male Stand-in Throws a Hissy Fit<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are not going to halt the flights,\u201d Mullin told Kilmeade. \u201cWhat we\u2019re saying is we just won\u2019t be able to process them because we won\u2019t have officers there. We\u2019re gonna have to pull out our Customs and Border Patrol officers that process these flights and put them in these facilities to help protect our employees coming out of work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd if they\u2019re not there processing international flights, then those individuals, when the&#8230; airlines land, can\u2019t\u2014well, they won\u2019t be admitted into the United States,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Beast has reached out to ICE and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for comment on Mullin\u2019s proposal.<\/p>\n<p>Reached for comment, DHS referred the Daily Beast to Mullin\u2019s remarks: \u201cWe\u2019re currently drawing up plans to say listen, in these sanctuary cities where the local radical left Democrats aren\u2019t allowing us to do our job and enforce federal laws, we shouldn\u2019t be processing international flights into their cities either, because they don\u2019t want us to enforce immigration but they want us to process immigration at their facilities? Nothing about that makes sense to me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Travel groups have condemned the move, with the U.S. Travel Association saying it \u201cwould have devastating consequences for the travel industry and communities that depend on international visitation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Even Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy appeared skeptical of the proposal when asked about it in a congressional hearing last week, saying that \u201cwe shouldn\u2019t shut down air travel in a state that doesn\u2019t agree with our politics.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mullin shared a social media video on Thursday afternoon talking about the Delaney Hall detention center, where he slammed Democrats and held up photos of detainees along with their alleged crimes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe left sanctuary city politicians that are running this Democrat-controlled area will sit there and tell you it\u2019s because of the conditions of the facility.
