The View <\/i>host Joy Behar is setting the record straight after JD Vance claimed the two became \u201cbest friends\u201d following his appearance on the show this week. <\/p>\n

While speaking to reporters on Thursday, Vance pointed to the grilling he faced from The View <\/i>hosts in a bizarre attempt to clap back at critics who don\u2019t think he has what it takes to negotiate with Iran. <\/p>\n

\n

\u201cI have seen some progressive criticisms of me personally, saying, \u2018What experience does the vice president of the United States have with hostile, high-stakes negotiations?\u2019 I would point those progressive critics to the fact that just two days ago I spent over an hour on The View,<\/i>\u201d Vance said. \u201cSo I actually have a great experience in very hostile negotiations.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The 42-year-old vice president added, \u201cJoy Behar is way tougher than the Iranians, and she and I are best friends now.\u201d<\/p>\n

The absurd brag left The View<\/i> hosts dumbfounded during Friday\u2019s show.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat? We were more difficult to deal with than the Iranian government?\u201d Sunny Hostin said incredulously. <\/p>\n

\u201cI wish Joy had negotiated this Iran deal\u2014it would\u2019ve been better,\u201d Ana Navarro chimed in. <\/p>\n

Hostin then pressed Behar, who had told Vance he wasn\u2019t bad \u201cfor a Republican\u201d during a commercial break and later spoke warmly about Vance on a podcast, \u201cI want to know, why were you so\u2014why were you so in love with JD Vance?\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cI wasn\u2019t in love. Look, I\u2019m not in love with him, and I\u2019m not in love with this administration,\u201d Behar, 83, shot back. <\/p>\n

Navarro, 54, noted that Vance \u201ccame in strategically prepared to disarm us with niceness,\u201d telling Behar, \u201cI mean, it worked on you, didn\u2019t work on me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt did not work on me, Ana,\u201d Behar protested. \u201cIt did not. I respect the office; I\u2019m a civilized human being. When someone comes on my show, then you treat them like a human being.\u201d<\/p>\n

During Vance\u2019s interview on the show he once called \u201cpropaganda\u201d for Democrats, the hosts didn\u2019t shy away from asking the vice president frank questions. <\/p>\n

Vance was forced to address Trump\u2019s description of affordability being a \u201choax,\u201d the stigmatization of Black people in America, and his own previous description of Trump as \u201cAmerica\u2019s Hitler.\u201d<\/p>\n

But it was the rapid-fire grilling he faced from The View<\/i>\u2019s six female co-hosts about the handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files that led him to practically beg for a change of topic.<\/p>\n
