And here we are again, another peace deal brewing,\u201d Rothkopf, the Daily Beast\u2019s chief global affairs correspondent, told co-host Joanna Coles. \u201cBut this thing is different, because it\u2019s incredibly corrupt.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Rothkopf noted how much the government has paid to put on the event: $60 million. That\u2019s according to court documents filed in response to a lawsuit challenging the legality of the event, claiming the National Park Service unlawfully approved it and that federal landmarks like the White House cannot be used for private, for-profit spectacles.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a big advertisement right in the middle of it for Monster Energy, an energy drink,\u201d Rothkopf continued. \u201cIf there was ever a White House that has monster energy, it\u2019s this White House.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Other ads in and on the octagon include Bud Light and Polymarket.<\/p>\n<p>Trump, Rothkopf continued, is \u201cgiving big benefits to sponsors and donors and others, and somebody is making money on this. This is for profit. The UFC, which is run by his friend, Dana White, the UFC is controlling the PR for this, not the White House Press Office.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The event comes a few days after the Trump administration, and the UFC signed a memorandum of agreement that the State Department would use the company for diplomatic purposes.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=1313\">Interior Secretary Targets Bizarre Culprit for High Gas Prices<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Paramount\u2019s role should also be questioned, Rothkopf said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cParamount, the broadcasting company owned by the Ellisons\u2014who are his buddies\u2014are controlling the TV rights to this,\u201c Rothkopf said, referring to tech billionaire Larry and his son, David. \u201cThis is as corrupt a MAGA event as there could possibly be. And it\u2019s also gross.\u201c <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat Trump is giving the United States for its 250th birthday is humiliation, because this is humiliating,\u201d Rothkopf said. If any other country did what Trump is doing, it would spur immediate ridicule, he added.<\/p>\n<p>Reached for comment, White House spokesperson Davis Ingle told the Daily Beast, \u201cDavid Rothkopf is a far-left loser who clearly suffers from a severe and debilitating disease known as Trump Derangement Syndrome that has rotted his peanut-sized brain.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition to being the subject of an ethics lawsuit, the UFC event is accused of violating the U.S. flag code, since Octagon Girls will be wearing flags as part of their outfits.<\/p>\n<p>The flag code states that the stars and stripes \u201cshould never be used as wearing apparel, bedding or drapery,\u201d and that the flag should never \u201cbe used as a costume or athletic uniform.\u201d<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><i><b>New episodes of The Daily Beast Podcast are released every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday on <\/b><\/i><i><b>YouTube<\/b><\/i><i><b>, and on <\/b><\/i><i><b>other podcast platforms<\/b><\/i><i><b> the next morning.
