Have a good time.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>But in an interview with Vanity Fair, the 49-year-old revealed that Trump\u2019s follow-up comments were much more genteel. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI spoke to him the morning after the interview, and without getting into an exact verbatim of what was said, he effectively said, \u2018Look, the rain was disruptive. We\u2019re going to do this again in Washington,\u2019\u201d she said. <\/p>\n<p>Welker added that she almost expects insults from a president who has a habit of unloading on female journalists. \u201cI\u2019ve covered President Trump since 2015 when he was a candidate, and it doesn\u2019t faze me at all. It\u2019s part of the conversation. I anticipate it to some extent,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Welker explained how she deals with Trump\u2019s volatility. \u201cI try to stay focused on the content of my questions and on getting answers. Because that\u2019s my goal, particularly in a presidential interview\u2014to have that amount of time with a president. My goal is to get answers on behalf of the American people,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>During the interview at a barn in Wisconsin, Trump began to sour on Welker after she pointed out in the interview\u2014which aired Sunday\u2014that there\u2019s \u201cno evidence\u201d of rigged elections in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo you have evidence?\u201d she asked after Trump slammed California\u2019s elections as \u201crigged.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=1264\">Kennedy Center Goons Launch Last-Ditch Bid to Avoid Trump\u2019s Humiliation<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The president then fired back: \u201cAll I have to do is look.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When Welker replied: \u201cThat\u2019s not evidence,\u201d the interview took a turn.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re crooked, and <i>Meet the Press<\/i> is crooked, and so is ABC and CBS and CNN, one-sided crooked networks. Let\u2019s call it quits, because I\u2019ve had enough,\u201d Trump raged. \u201cThank you, darling. Have a good time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As he stormed off, Welker attempted to salvage the interview she had traveled all the way to Wisconsin for. But Trump wasn\u2019t having it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve given you enough time,\u201d he said. \u201cYou ought to straighten out your press, because you know what, our country can never be great.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Just days earlier, Trump launched an unprompted attack on CNN reporter Kaitlan Collins after another reporter asked about his $1.8 billion \u201canti-weaponization\u201d slush fund.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCNN\u2019s a very corrupt organization, with a corrupt reporter standing right there,\u201d Trump mused, pointing at Collins. \u201cNever smiles. She never\u2014she\u2019s a young, beautiful woman, smiles. I never see a smile on her face.
