{"id":1193,"date":"2026-06-11T11:09:35","date_gmt":"2026-06-11T11:09:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=1193"},"modified":"2026-06-11T11:09:35","modified_gmt":"2026-06-11T11:09:35","slug":"trump-hit-with-blistering-filing-in-epstein-lawsuit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=1193","title":{"rendered":"Trump Hit With Blistering Filing in Epstein Lawsuit"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<p>The Wall Street Journal asked a judge to dismiss Donald Trump\u2019s $10 billion lawsuit against the paper \u201conce and for all\u201d in a blistering court filing accusing the president of attempting to \u201csubvert\u201d the First Amendment with his Epstein-related suit. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=1191\">Leaked Call Reveals Gabbard\u2019s Final Humiliation<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Journal published a bombshell report in July 2025 alleging that Trump had sent a graphic 50th birthday letter to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein that was included in a book compiled by Epstein accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell in 2003. <\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Trump denied writing the letter and sued the Journal and its Rupert Murdoch-controlled parent company for $10 billion for defamation, only to have the case thrown out in April for coming \u201cnowhere close\u201d to pleading actual malice, the standard required for a public figure to bring a successful suit. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The court, however, left the door open for Trump to file an amended complaint, which the Journal has now responded to in a scathing .<\/p>\n<p>The filing argues that the new complaint \u201cdoes not remedy any of the defects identified in the Court\u2019s dismissal order\u201d and in fact \u201ccompounds them\u201d by recycling allegations already rejected by the court. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis Court held once that Plaintiff failed to state a defamation claim against Defendants. The [amended complaint] only bolsters the conclusion that he can never do so,\u201d it adds. <\/p>\n<p>To show actual malice, Trump\u2019s must prove the Journal knowingly published a false statement that harmed his reputation, or published the statement with a reckless disregard for the truth. <\/p>\n<p>The article never said that Trump personally crafted the letter to Epstein\u2014just that a bawdy letter \u201cbearing Trump\u2019s name\u201d appeared in the birthday book, a fact that was confirmed when Congress released a letter from the Epstein estate that was identical to the one published by the Journal, the filing argues. <\/p>\n<p>The letter shows an imagined conversation between Trump and Epstein framed by a doodle of a nude woman or girl, with Trump\u2019s infamous Sharpie signature appearing where the pubic hair would be. <\/p>\n<p>The filing also notes that the article reported on Trump\u2019s \u201cwell-documented relationship with Epstein\u201d and the fact that the two men were socializing around the time the book was compiled, as evidenced by Trump\u2019s own 2002 interview with New Yorkmagazine in which he said he\u2019d known Epstein for 15 years and considered him a \u201cterrific guy.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>And the amended complaint \u201cre-packages\u201d allegations previously rejected by the court that the Journal did not investigate the story before publishing, and that its article included \u201cglaring omissions\u201d\u2014even though most of the information that was supposedly omitted does in fact appear in the piece, along with evidence of the journalists\u2019 investigative efforts, the filing argues.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=1189\">Secret Details of Trump Goon\u2019s Link to Accused CIA Gold Grifter Exposed<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The filing stresses that the article included the president\u2019s insistence that he later had a falling-out with Epstein and banned him from his Mar-a-Lago club prior to the disgraced financier\u2019s 2008 guilty plea for soliciting prostitution from minors. <\/p>\n<p>Epstein died in 2019 in a Manhattan jail while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, with law enforcement ruling the death a suicide. <\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s complaints argued that the Journal had failed to reach out to Maxwell, the only living person besides Trump who could verify the article\u2019s details, or had interviewed her and \u201cintentionally failed\u201d to report on her comments. <\/p>\n<p>In fact, the article explicitly states that Maxwell\u2014who is serving a 20-year prison sentence for her role in Epstein\u2019s crimes\u2014didn\u2019t respond to a letter requesting an interview. Her attorney provided a published statement saying she was focused on her appeal. <\/p>\n<p>After the article appeared, Maxwell told then-Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche that she did not remember Trump submitting a letter for Epstein\u2019s 50th birthday book. <\/p>\n<p>The amended complaint claimed those comments should have been included in the article\u2014even though they were made a week after its publication. <\/p>\n<p>The amended complaint also claims the Journal failed to include \u201cany denial from President Trump as to whether he signed the letter,\u201d despite the article dedicating three paragraphs to Trump\u2019s insistence that the letter was a \u201cfake thing\u201d and that, \u201cThis is not me.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Despite having \u201cevery opportunity\u201d to plead a defamation case against the Journal, the case \u201cremains groundless,\u201d the filing argued. <\/p>\n<p>It asked for the suit to be dismissed without prejudice, meaning it can\u2019t be amended, and to be awarded attorneys\u2019 fees and costs under Florida\u2019s anti-SLAPP laws protecting against frivolous lawsuits aimed at suppressing constitutional free speech on a public issue. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=1187\">Mike Johnson Makes Desperate Attempt to Spin Trump\u2019s Jaw-Dropping Comment<\/a><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The Daily Beast has reached out to Trump\u2019s lawyers for comment. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Wall Street Journal asked a judge to dismiss Donald Trump\u2019s $10 billion lawsuit against the paper \u201conce and for all\u201d in a blistering court filing accusing the president of attempting to \u201csubvert\u201d the First Amendment with his Epstein-related suit.
