{"id":1145,"date":"2026-06-10T18:13:31","date_gmt":"2026-06-10T18:13:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=1145"},"modified":"2026-06-10T18:13:31","modified_gmt":"2026-06-10T18:13:31","slug":"trump-doj-attorney-humiliated-to-her-face-in-crock-of-st-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=1145","title":{"rendered":"Trump DOJ Attorney Humiliated to Her Face in \u2018Crock of S**t\u2019 Case"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<p>A grand juror blasted a case brought by President Donald Trump\u2019s Department of Justice as a \u201ccrock of s&#8211;t\u201d in a confrontation with one of the federal prosecutors seeking an indictment. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=1143\">Trump\u2019s White House UFC Circus Sparks Security Nightmare<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The U.S. attorney\u2019s office later dropped all charges against the four remaining defendants in the \u201cBroadview Six\u201d case involving a group of protesters arrested outside a federal immigration detention center in the Chicago area.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Prosecutors originally charged six anti-ICE activists\u2014including then-Democratic congressional candidate Kat Abughazaleh\u2014with felony conspiracy charges before dropping the charges against two defendants and reducing the remaining counts to misdemeanors. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>It took three grand jury sessions to secure an indictment.<\/p>\n<p>The case was dropped entirely in late May after Judge April Perry, a Biden appointee, discovered the DOJ had tried to cover up the prosecution\u2019s grand jury misconduct by redacting parts of the transcript. <\/p>\n<p>Grand jury transcripts released Tuesday by the defense confirm that Assistant U.S. Attorney Sheri Mecklenburg spoke to grand jurors outside the courtroom, offered her personal opinion vouching for the strength of the evidence, and dismissed grand jurors who refused to indict the protesters, CBS News reported. <\/p>\n<p>They also show an incredible exchange between Mecklenburg and one of the dismissed jurors. <\/p>\n<p>The transcript shows a juror asking Mecklenburg, \u201cAre you actually presenting any new actual facts, or just a different viewpoint from your side?\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cOK. I\u2019m feeling the skepticism already,\u201d Mecklenburg responded. \u201cAre you going to be able to listen with an open mind? Tell me the truth.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2014no,\u201d the juror replied.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOkay. Thank you for your opinion for everybody,\u201d Mecklenburg said. \u201cI kind of had that impression from last week, but thank you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo you have any other evidence other than [inaudible]?\u201d the juror insisted. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHave a good evening,\u201d Mecklenburg replied.<\/p>\n<p>After taking the extraordinary step of viewing the full transcripts, Perry reprimanded the district\u2019s Trump-appointed U.S. Attorney Andrew Boutros for his prosecutors\u2019 behavior.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour sole goal is to do justice. Your client is justice itself,\u201d she said. \u201cI do believe deeply in the presumption of regularity and that most government attorneys are doing the best they can to do the right thing. That trust has been broken.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The case was one of several instances over the past month in which judges criticized the DOJ\u2019s lawyers and held them personally responsible for misconduct. <\/p>\n<p>The DOJ has been contacted for comment. <\/p>\n<p>The department previously told the Daily Beast in a statement that those \u201cfew isolated events\u201d were \u201cnot representative of DOJ\u2019s overall achievements to date.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Boutros told Perry during a hearing in late May that he had only recently learned of his attorneys\u2019 misconduct, CBS News reported at the time. <\/p>\n<p>He said he decided to drop the felony conspiracy charges after he learned of the vouching and communications with grand jurors, but kept the misdemeanor charges because the grand jury only considers felony charges. <\/p>\n<p>Boutros also said he discovered \u201cin real time\u201d that skeptical grand jurors were being dismissed, and that he called off the grand jury session as soon as he was made aware. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=1139\">Murdoch Paper Tears Into Trump\u2019s \u2018Self-Defeating\u2019 Obsession<\/a><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>He dismissed the charges entirely after the cover-up attempt was revealed. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A grand juror blasted a case brought by President Donald Trump\u2019s Department of Justice as a \u201ccrock of s&#8211;t\u201d in a confrontation with one of the federal prosecutors seeking an indictment.
