Stephen A. Smith was critical of the president\u2019s presence and nailed the near 80-year-old for catching some impromptu Zs. <\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cAnd guess what he was doing during the game, ladies and gentlemen? Go online, look at the videos. I\u2019m not going to accuse him of snoring, because I wasn\u2019t in earshot, but the brother wasn\u2019t awake,\u201d he said on ESPN\u2019s <i>First Take<\/i> on Tuesday. \u201cHe wasn\u2019t awake.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cIf it was that important for you to be there, why did you look like you were asleep? Didn\u2019t you call out former President Joe Biden, \u2018Sleepy Joe\u2019? Well, what should we call you? Cause you weren\u2019t awake,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>This clearly caught Trump\u2019s attention, who responded with a furious Truth Social post at 6:35 a.m. on Wednesday. \u201cStephen A. Smith is an arrogant fool, a low IQ individual. In other words, he\u2019s \u2018dumb as a rock,\u2019 and totally unqualified to ever think of running for high political office, or even low political office, for that matter!\u201d he opened his furious post. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019d get annihilated in a debate by the most incompetent of politicians. Joe Biden\u2019s now \u2018fabled\u2019 performance would look great by comparison to anything that this loudmouth huckster has to offer, which isn\u2019t much! Within a few weeks, they\u2019d laugh him out of politics!!!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump has previously talked up Smith\u2019s musings about a run for office in 2028. In April last year, Smith said he was leaving \u201call doors open\u201d to a presidential run, earning praise from Trump. In fact, Smith said he blames the president for the end of the Knicks\u2019 13-game win streak. <\/p>\n<p>In response to that, Trump suggested that the 58-year-old didn\u2019t have what it takes to lead the nation. \u201cHe is a nice guy, but you need a certain aptitude to run for president,\u201d Trump told reporters before boarding Air Force One. \u201cYou need a high IQ. I\u2019m not sure that Stephen has that, I don\u2019t think he does actually.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>His Wednesday morning version included more vitriol. Smith\u2019s issue stemmed from the fact that Trump\u2019s presence at the playoff turned the event into a circus with airport-style security, thousands of cops and restrictive barriers stretching for blocks.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cWhy am I blaming him, ladies and gentlemen? It\u2019s very, very simple, because the president disrupted our mojo. I\u2019ve said this on many occasions over the last 24 hours and I\u2019m saying it again.
