{"id":1005,"date":"2026-06-08T18:44:27","date_gmt":"2026-06-08T18:44:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=1005"},"modified":"2026-06-08T18:44:27","modified_gmt":"2026-06-08T18:44:27","slug":"fallen-billionaire-fraudster-asks-trump-for-a-huge-favor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=1005","title":{"rendered":"Fallen Billionaire Fraudster Asks Trump for a Huge Favor"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<p>FTX fraudster Sam Bankman-Fried wants President Donald Trump to let him off the hook. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationwideinterstatemovers.com\/?p=1004\">Trump Goon Offers Bonkers Explanation for Flesh-Eating Parasite Outbreak<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The 34-year-old crypto poster boy turned convicted felon is currently serving 25 years behind bars and was ordered to turn over $11 billion after misusing investors\u2019 funds. <\/p>\n<div>\n<p>He has applied for a \u201cpardon after completion of sentence\u201d with the Justice Department\u2019s Pardon Attorney\u2019s Office, which is currently pending, DoJ filings reveal. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>He spoke to Fox Business on Wednesday, where he was asked whether he would be open to a pardon from Trump. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAbsolutely,\u201d he said. \u201cIt would be, obviously, you know, ultimately up to the president, not up to me.<\/p>\n<p>He said he hadn\u2019t spoken to Trump himself, but when he was asked whether anyone\u2014such as friends or family\u2014had done so on his behalf, he said: \u201cI can\u2019t speak for them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump told The New York Times in January that he had no intention of pardoning Bankman-Fried. <\/p>\n<p>He was found guilty of two counts of wire fraud and five counts of conspiracy in 2024. <\/p>\n<p>It came two years after FTX collapsed, when a sudden withdrawal of funds revealed the misuse of investors\u2019 money. It ultimately led to FTX\u2019s rapid descent into bankruptcy and the exposure of Bankman-Fried\u2019s crimes, which he still denies. <\/p>\n<p>Bloomberg reports that in all, it cost investors, lenders, and customers more than $10 billion. How about same point in Biden\u2019s term? +7.0 percent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another from March said, \u201cCrypto is the future of AI-native payments. And [Trump] is the first president to see the national strategic potential of both crypto and AI.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Still, Bankman-Fried denies any wrongdoing. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI didn\u2019t steal user funds either,\u201d he told Fox. \u201cCustomers have been repaid now 170 percent or so on their deposits. It\u2019s one of the very few cases where the platform was over-collateralized, where customers were more than made whole. And yet there was, you know, not just a criminal investigation, but a prosecution. And, you know, dozens of years of sentence[s].\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can only tell you what I think and, you know, ultimately, customers have been repaid again nearly twice what they had on the platform,\u201d he added. \u201cAnd it\u2019s a great disservice to them that it has taken three years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He even used the interview to suck up to former first buddy Elon Musk, who Trump has said is back in the fold after the pair\u2019s explosive breakup last year. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think SpaceX has extremely large potential,\u201d Bankman-Fried said. \u201cThere are some parallels here where\u2026 frankly, there are very few companies that are well positioned to play a large role in the space industry. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s one of those very few companies and I foresee it having an extremely large amount of upside, you know, even from where it is today, let alone where it was when we invested.
