Netflix Exec Fired After Sharing Secret During Company’s Trust Exercise
Netflix executive and film producer Kevin Baillie was fired from his job for allegedly using medically prescribed after the loss of his mother.

The vice president and head of creative at Eyeline Studios, Netflix’s visual effects division, revealed his drug use during a “vulnerability-trust exercise” at Netflix’s Sendero Ranch in Northern California.
The exercise, during which participants shared about their personal experiences, was intended to foster connections between coworkers.
At the January 2026 retreat, Baillie revealed that he was medically prescribed the general anesthetic for his clinical depression following his mom’s death.
He claimed at the retreat that he had taken the drug under medical supervision in October and November of 2022.
In April 2026, Baillie was fired from his Netflix job, at which he makes an estimated $1.1 million annually.
The company’s attorney confirmed that “the ketamine therapy issue has factored into the termination,” and that the 48-year-old exec was denied severance pay.

Baillie has filed a lawsuit against the media and entertainment company, in which he claims he was investigated for alleged profanity, alcohol usage, and his comments made at the retreat.
According to the ongoing lawsuit, an investigation was conducted into his comments shortly after the retreat, ultimately leading to his firing.
The lawsuit also mentions Netflix’s lax workplace culture that Baillie claimed was later used against him.
According to the film producer, alcohol consumption was common during company events. Eyeline Studios CEO Jeff Shapiro even kept a personal bar in his office, from which Baillie was served after a “successful” meeting with Shapiro and Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos.
According to the New York Post, Baillie is seeking compensatory damages, lost wages, damages for emotional distress, punitive damages, and a trial by jury.
Baillee has previously worked on Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter, and other hit films and TV shows. His LinkedIn details his career experience, including his membership in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Visual Effects Society.
